Gloriana Goes Far With New Video

Country rookie band Gloriana debuted their new video today (Oct. 19) for their tune "How Far Do You Wanna Go?" And I think the answer is: very, very far. At least that's the impression your get with the whole car-and-motorcycle chase thing that's happening through city streets and country roads. I don't quite get if the guy is chasing the girl who is trying to outrun him, or if he's following her and she doesn't even know it. Either way, they are together and madly in love by the end. But I prefer the parts of the video that show the live clips of the band's show. I've blogged before that I was seriously impressed with Cheyenne Kimball's mandolin playing. But you have to wait until about two minutes into this video before you hear it at all. Still, it's a slick and solid video from such a brand new band. And way better than the fan-created videos for the song that are on the Web site. (No offense, fans.) By the way, Gloriana is nominated for the T-Mobile breakthrough country artist of the year at the American Music Awards. The show airs Nov. 22 on ABC.

I’m more impressed with Sierra Hull’s mandolin playing. Since you will hear it and not it buried by the pounding of drums. but there are no drums in bluegrass music.

Love the song! I was a little disappointed in the video. The lights were too bright behind the band most of the time, and the video shows too much of the band and not enough of the two love birds in the video.

I’ve seen them perform live on two separate occasions and they are great.
