Keith Urban Always Intrigued by CMA Awards
Keith Urban is a busy man. So I can hardly picture him watching a lot of television. But as a kid, he says he remembers doing so when the CMA Awards came on (even all the way down under in Australia). "I grew up in Australia watching the CMA Awards on television, and I remember seeing Barbara Mandrell win (the entertainer of the year award) a couple of times. The award goes to people who really put on a show, which is why they call it 'entertainer of the year' as opposed to 'artist of the year,'" he told the Tennessean. Urban won it in 2005, which he called "mind-blowing," and now he's up for the award again this year. "That one is a huge honor, no question," he said. The story also has Urban talking about balancing family and touring: "I've been able to put our daughter to bed, and have dinner with my wife, and have breakfast at home. I think the shows have been better because of that." That could very well make him entertainer of the year AND father of the year.

Keith is the only real choice. As I have posted before, I’ve seen all the nominees live, and none of them compare to Keith Urban. The man is so incredibly talented. Beautiful clear, clean voice, best guitarist anywhere in any genre and an excellent,thoughtful writer. His shows are a real Escape. Mind blowing entertainment from the minute he walks on stage. He should also win Male Vocalist. His voice is incredible and unique to him. He sounds like no one else. Sadly that can’t be said by too many. Best Album as well. The people who don’t love this body of work haven’t listened to it enough times and really given the music some thought. I am so thankful KU has stayed away from sermonizing or making his songs a running joke or commentary on today’s world. Funny once or twice, then just tiresome and irksome.

Keith is the only choice for ETY,from the moment you start watching him it’s mesmerising!His talented guitar work is awesome to say the least and apart from being gorgeous to look at he has a beautiful heart and to top that off,he truely cares for his fans,and thats from a crazy Keith fan who has never been to a Keith concert!!!

Keith Urban for Entertainer of the Year!! He totally deserves it. And no matter what happens, even if he doesnt win, he is still MY Entertainer of the Year. But he should definitley win this year. His Escape Together World Tour and his Defying Gravity album are amazing. Your fans love you Keith!

Keith definitely deserves the EOTY award. He’s been deserving of that award for many years…not because he fills a stadium..but because he a true showman and a gifted musician and connects with the audience like no other. You feel like he’s singing to you and nobody else and leaves you mesmerized. I just hope the CMAs do not let the money do the talking but lets the true talent reign. Keith, I will be rooting for you. So glad to see you happier than ever!

I also hope that Keith wins the major awards that he’s up for EOTY, Male Vocalist, and Album (plus the other 2 awards also). He definitely deserves all of them, but I’m rooting for him to especially get entertainer of the year and male vocalist. He gives everything he has during those two hours that he is on stage and truly appreciates his fans. No one else’s show compare to his. So here is hoping that the CMA voters get it right this year!
