Rascal Flatts' "Why" Is a Hit From the First Verse
There is something about a Rascal Flatts song, and I can't quite put my finger on it, that makes it a hit from the first verse. Their latest, "Why," has been the most-added song on country radio stations for the past couple weeks. Why? It could be the distinctive Flatts sound you get with the sparse combination of piano and Gary LeVox' vocals, especially in the intro. Or the way the lyrics vaguely describe a troubled soul who walks away in the middle of a song. I get that this is a song about a suicide. But like so many other Rascal Flatts songs do, this one takes an ugly topic and turns it into something beautifully bittersweet.

This song hit close to home. The same day it was released my oldest girls best friend committed suicide. What a beautiful kid ….. Last year she came around third to score a winning run in a softball game . Its hard to see your kid in so much pain from this, but she will pull through this with our help and friends….. WHAT BEAUTIFUL SONG!

This is a beautiful song, that I think a lot of people can relate to. The first time I heard this song the first thing I was struck by was Gary’s vocals. Man,Oh man his vocals just blew me away. After the song was over I had to listen to it again. It was then that I realized what the song was about. Sense then every time I hear it I always have tears in my eyes.

WOW! Once again ‘RASCAL FLATTS’ blows me away and touches my spirit! I heard this song for the first time yesterday during a short roadtrip to my boyfriend’s house. My daughter at 21 passed away almost 3 years ago and a friend just had a paranormal experience with her and she wanted me to know (her mom) that she didn’t commit suicide and that she was mistaken by us thinking she was very unhappy in life after her dad passed away from complications with ‘AIDS” and she wanted to die to go be with him. The detectives closed her case 6 1/2 hours after finding her and a friend in his vehicle, sunken in a canal for three days, as ‘commited suicide’ like ‘Thelma and Louise’ did in the movie, they concluded. I alway’s knew she wouldn’t commit suicide and now I know it for sure. This song though comes to me after the extensive visit from her and the info she gave to open her case and make them solve it. Thankyou Gary and guy’s for your beautiful lyric’s and melodies not to mention your voices and harmony! RIP Bethannie Sue Bennett, you are still alive within us!

Sarabeth is the most hard hit songs to me being a cancer recovery. I watch this all the time and it gives me tears, everytime. The words, and the heart felt soul of the singing makes me relax, and think of better days. I have had nothing compared to these lives that cancer has affected so dramatically. I am gratful for humbling music like this and other wonderful ballads they have put togther; Thank You and dont stop sharing your lives with us.
