Keith Urban's Concert Texting Was a Masterpiece

Keith UrbanI could have predicted this. The KC Masterpiece and Kingsford promotion that Keith Urban just did was the most successful one they've ever had. The sweepstakes, which encouraged you to text a special Urban phone number to enter to win the Me, You and a BBQ private concert and backyard cookout, garnered 500,000 entries. Granted, some of those might have been the same person over and over. But still, that's a lot of text messages. Even if they didn't win, the program also offered Urban's texting fans to win seat upgrades at concerts and get free downloads of live tracks. And when it was all said and done, more than 32 percent of those fans signed up for his mobile fan club. That gives Urban the honor of being named one of Billboard's Top 10 wireless artists among all genres.

I was one of those that texted at every show I went to but didn’t win anything, but it was fun and it was fun to read all the other texts! Good job Keith!!

Couldn’t get tickets to see this guy with Kenny. Did get to see his first solo show in Muncie. Enjoyed it. This Aug. took a friend to see his show in Columbus. It was so loud (such a large gathering!)it made me feel thankful they’ve created cd,s. Really do enjoy every album except the first one cut abroad. Did not find it on any store shelf. “I do believe” Mr. Urban is truly blessed. May Good vibes continue. elh

The texting contest was a lot of fun. I didn’t win anything from that contest but I did win a KC Masterpiece BBQ package from a radio station earlier in the summer, which included a tailgating/camping grill, b-b-que tools, recipes, Defying Gravity CD, and tons of coupons for KC Masterpiece BBQ sauce and Kingsford charcoal. Needless to say we stocked up on both (we used KC and Kingsford exclusively before the contest). Both were very cool!
