Miranda Lambert Is Nervous About Ryman Show
Miranda Lambert is playing the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville tonight to celebrate the impending release of her new album, Revolution. During an interview earlier this week, she said that she's planning a few casino dates and headlining shows in the fall -- "and the Ryman's huge. I'm so excited about that."
She attributes the idea to her manager. "I would have never thought of something like that," she says. "This is the first time we've ever had to learn an entire record. That'll be interesting. I mean, it's been a lot of work but it's the most unbelievable gig we'll ever do and it means the world to me, my band and crew. I was just saying today, I don't think I've ever been this nervous, at least not in a long, long time. Nervous, but excited!"

Interesting choice of words. “This is the first time we’ve ever had to learn an entire record”. What is you’re interpretation of this quote?
Alison W says:
I want to hear how it went!!! Stories on it, please.
Yes, I agree with Red, I was a little perplexed about that quote too. Maybe she means this is the first time she’s performed ALL of the songs from a single record. But still, wouldn’t her band have “learned” it all already? I dont know.

Most of the time, a different band is used when recording the record than the one that tours with the singer..

I think Miranda means to perform all new material from her new album in one concert for the first time - usually with your gigs you can add songs or hits when you want to or add your hits to your live concerts as they are released to radio - would love to see her performance - sounds like a great evening =

I was at the show! It was amazing. There is not one song on the album that is not single worthy! I have seen her before but this was a unique show in which she previewed the entire album noting several times the inspiration for the songs and why they meant so much to her. At one point she played a few of her big hits and then covered some “old school” country as she called it. She covered Patsy Cline’s “Crazy” and it was pretty chilling. She stepped away from the mic to give the effect of the way shows used to be played at the Ryman. It was great and recieved a standing ovation. There were a few times Miranda teared up and thanked the crowd, noting that it meant a lot for her to play at the Ryman Auditorium. Apparently Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson were in the audience to see the show too. Niether my friend or I saw them but Miranda did note at the beginning of the show that some of her “artist friends” were there but that she didn’t want to point them out because it was her night to shine. Overall…the performances were perfect and the album sounds like a ‘revolution,’ literally. Buy it tuesday folks!!!

A lot of good songs on this one, more variety and depth than she’s shown on previous releases, and some real country feeling to a lot of it. Some nice writing too — love “The House That Built Me”.
I’m guessing that Miranda’s “Revolution” will be her biggest success.
