Sara Evans Sneaks in the Vegetables
Back when Sara Evans signed on to work with Libby's on a jingle, I could not get that "Libby's, Libby's, Libby's on the label, label, label" tune out of my head. And now it's back again, because Evans did this long Q&A on their Web site all about how she makes the most of family dinners -- how it's their time to unwind and reconnect as a family and all that. For me, though, I most like her admission that she looks for shortcuts. ("I am a big fan of the Crock Pot. I just throw in some of my favorite Libby's veggies, like sweet corn and green beans, some stock and chicken and it does the work for me.") She even has to sneak veggies into her kids' meals just like a regular mom. ("Adding Libby's canned vegetables to their favorite dishes like mac 'n cheese is a great way to get them to eat their veggies without noticing it. I also enjoy making chili with Libby's organic beans, and the kids love it.") There are some great recipes on the site, too. Look for Evans to judge five original dishes, all with Libby's products, in New York City on Sept. 15.

Sara Evans seems unable to sell a significant number of albums anymore, but maybe she will have better luck selling Libby’s vegetables.
Of course, if I was foolish enough to buy a product based on a paid endorsement by a celebrity, I would prefer to buy a product endorsed by a still popular celebrity, not a has-been. Surely a quality product would be endorsed by a quality celebrity!! If Sara Evans is a has been, maybe Libby’s is too!

sara has talent, she can sing bluegrass or straight up country. please do not put her down because of her record sales, looks like to me a lot of these artists these days have little or no talent and do a lot of publicity and come across as with talent and can’t sing a lick.

Why would you turn this into a bashing thread? Sara has had tremendous success, and has not sold much lately because she has not released a new album in 4 years, for personal reasons. Her last new album ‘Real Fine Place To Start’, went Platinum. It contained the hit FRPT which was #1 two weeks in a row, Cheating made it to #9 and You’ll Always Be My Baby made it to #13, not bad in my opinion. Sara is set to release a new album later this year, and I expect tremendous success for her as usual. By the way, just went and seen her again last week in Syracuse were over 10,000 people showed up to watch a phenomenal performer who still’s got IT!

Evans’ days as a Pop act are definately over, just as Judd, Rimes, Wilson, McBride, Hill. That’s show business. Let’s face it…Libby’s isn’t the most popular brand on the shelf…neither are these has-beens I mentioned. It’s Pop Culture…disposable acts are part of the definition..
Mattias says:
Sara Evans got a great country voice and then she ruin it by getting pop and rock influenced as so many other female (and male) artists. Its so tragic that in country music business many get so influenced by pop and rock. Why? To sell more? Many real country lovers wont even buy this crap, so they dont buy as many they would have been, if they only been country as it should sound like. Im really upset about this development and i wonder were it would end?… As Dale Watson sing in a song: Country My Ass!
Redmaz says:
If you know who Dale Watson is what difference does it make what Pop Country acts do?
Mattias says:
Because they call it country when they are pop and rock. That should be a crime! If a pop singer makes real country is it still pop? NO! That should be the same for everyone.Soon i cant even call me listen to country..I dont care what pop country acts do, they are what they are, but they arent country.
