Reba McEntire Leads the Parade of New Music
Reba McEntire is enjoying the top perch of the Billboard 200 this week, with her newest album, Keep On Loving You, outselling everything else in the stores. "Over You" reminds me of a classic Reba song, the dramatic sort where she stabs you in the heart, then twists the knife around. (See also: "And Still.") In addition, I've added some new tunes from George Strait, Love and Theft, Jack Ingram and a bunch of cool tunes on various indie labels to this playlist.
"Over You," Reba McEntire
"Living for the Night," George Strait
"It's Up to You," Love and Theft
"Free," Jack Ingram
"Use Me Again," Gene Watson
"Do It," Delbert McClinton
"Load of Blues," Judith Edelman
"Could We Get Any Closer?" Jim Lauderdale
"Forgive Me," Allen Thompson
"Cryin' Eyes," Two Tons of Steel
"Cabiria," Hot Club of Cowtown
"Gone Like a Raven," Mark Stuart and the Bastard Sons
"Signs," Sam Baker
"Blacktop Road," Angela Easterling
"The Ride," John Arthur Martinez
"The Stream," the Giving Tree Band
"High Wide and Handsome," Loudon Wainwright III

I didn’t care for ‘Over You’ on my first few listens to the album - it was up-tempo and western swing numbers toward the end I liked best. But the more I listen, it is the ballads like ‘Over You’, ‘She’ Turning 50′, and ‘Eight Crazy Hours’ I find myself warming up to best. I’m just stoked to have new Reba music again. I like the Gene Watson song you mentioned too - just checked out his album yesterday. Good stuff.

Not familiar with a couple you listed, and don’t really care for the Pop acts you listed, but thanks for recognizing some of today’s REAL Country music artists..
