Weather Channel Drifts Toward Digital Music
The only thing that could make a crummy forecast a little sunnier, to me anyway, is country music. (If you're going through hail, keep on going ...) And the folks at The Weather Channel must know this because their licensing division is adding country music to the mix. They just launched The Weather Channel Music to get in on the digital music craze. So, say a song gives you the chills while you're watching a cold front moving in during the Local on the 8's forecasts. Now you can go to TWC's new site and hear it and even buy it for 99 cents. That goes for classic country, too. You can even find out what's on the anchors' playlists, like how Jim Cantore (pictured) likes Darius Rucker, Rascal Flatts, Montgomery Gentry and Jeffrey Steele, and Stephanie Abrams digs "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts and "You'll Think of Me" by Keith Urban. It's not the most traditional way to buy your music, but then again, tradition is being redefined every day -- to some degree.

Gee Alison what other kind of garbage can you blog! You are getting worse with each blog. It’s about time you were axed by country music.

I agree with jeremy. However couldn’t these weather people come up with some better songs?

Footprints in The Snow
Four Strong Winds
I Love A Rainy Night
