Tim McGraw Plans Intimate Show in Pittsburgh
I love that Tim McGraw is doing this club show near Pittsburgh. Just kind of hate that I won't be anywhere near there on Sept. 9. Because any time the word "intimate" is in front of the word "performance," good things happen. Cover songs are sung, the gig runs late, the crowd tends to be a little crazier. (Although this particular venue has a no-standing rule, so the 1,000 fans that go may not be able to get up and dance as much as they'd like.) It's going to be at the Pepsi-Cola Roadhouse in Burgettstown, Pa., and proceeds will go to the Neighbor's Keeper Foundation that McGraw and Faith Hill started in 2005. And what makes this show even more special is that while McGraw has a new album due out this fall, he only has a handful of tour stops left this year. So this show will be a good opportunity to hear the new stuff live.

Tim also jsut donated to Jim Kelly { Former Great quarterback of the Buffalo Bills who lost his son at a young age to a rare disease. Jim has foundation in honor of his son- Hunter| Thank you Tim for giving your heart so much. As a fan I just love you.

this is just another example of what great people these two are. and even though it only says Tim will be hosting I can bet you for sure his lovely wife will also be on hand. I have donated to their charity a few times. It is a great charity that seems to cover many things for people in need. this couple is the best in country music. sure wish they would do an album and it is about time someone wrote them another duet.

The album sounds awesome, definitely country and reminds me of his All I Want album. You can hear 30 second clips of the album on Itunes
megan says:
What a joke. This man is using his charity to boost sales of his next album and that’s it. Not buying it or his album.
truthteller says:
Sure hope his autotuners are working for him at this “intimate” gig.

Jerks, Tim and Faith are always doing stuff for charity all the time all the year. They just don’t make a BIG deal about it.
I have been a trustee on the St Jude’s Hospital foundation and Tim and Faith have been one of it’s main donors for years. Bet some of you don’t know that Tim paid Johnny Paycheck’s nursing home bill the last few years of his life.
Both Tim and Faith have HUGE hearts and give generously especially to anything involving kids.
Camilla says:
I think that it is nice that Tim being in Pittsburgh for the NFL Concert on the 10th would also provide us with the opportunity to attend an “intimate” benefit show . . . especially since he is not really touring in the East this year. Next year will be a blast with a 60-75 show Tour planned.
And comments like Megan’s above does surprise me being that most artists try to think if creative ways to promote their albums as well as support their fans . . . and exceptional charities. This Sept. 9 show should be praised and not criticized for whatever reason is behind it (even though I do not believe it is to promote his album . . . if that were the case he definitely would have selected a larger venue because he could have filled the seats). However, being a contributor since it’s inception Neighbor’s Keeper Foundation is a worthwhile charity that benefits others. Congratulations to both Tim and Faith for their compassion and generosity to many, many others within their foundation and outside of their foundation.
Thanks Tim and his staff for thinking of Pittsburgh to play this benefit! Looking forward to it . . .
D says:
Yeah doin stuff for his biggest charity namely HIMSELF
Alli says:
Another singer using charity to make money for himself. This is how the rich get richer. I won’t take part.
ladylacy says:
You know just because a singer is not your favor, you are better off keeping your mouth shut. So many of these performers are involved in charities without selling themselves but because they enjoy it. Do you participate or donate to charity and make it known to everyone that you do it? Why are the negativity towards people you don’t really know much about? This is the problem with this country today. The hatred towards each other and the jealousy towards those that have worked hard for what they have.
farmgirl says:
Tim is one of my favorite singers but lately there has been some signs in his personality that have become unbearable to me. I’m starting to wonder why he’s doing these charity events right before his new album comes out. Tim Mcgraw is not the same Tim Mcgraw I grew to love. This might be his greatest downfall yet.
Camilla says:
Tim for years had had his benfit Swampstock in his home town area around this time of year or a little later (Sept./Oct.) Having the Neighbors Keeper Benefit in another town to coincide with his working schedule is better than not having one at all. It is a shame when every time artists or other people do something nice it becomes “suspect” and then criticized. Foundation’s funding and spending are audited and any discrepancies would need to be validated. So I don’t think the Foundation is for Tim & Faith’s personal spending other than to provide another means to support their favorite charities of which many people benefit from. Their time and talents are being put to good use . . . as well as providing their fans and whichever charity is benefiting also the opportunity to feel good about doing something nice. If you don’t care for the McGraws that is certainly anyone’s privilege . . . however to lead others to believe there is something to be gained personally is out of bounds in this case.
KRYSTAL says:
I loathe Tim and Faith. They are the most overrated duet couple and frankly they are not worth spending money on. Get over yourselves Hill/mcgraws. I am.
D says:
I don’t understand why people must hate on the McGraws so much. And this post was about Tim doing something for charity. A low-key, intimate concert at that. If he was looking for recognition and attention right before his CD dropped I’m sure he could do it in a much grander fashion, and had every outlet cover it. This was merely a blip on a website, you don’t see him out promoting it, and announcing it all himself. The McGraws have done so many things outside of the radar, that the public do not hear about, and they don’t do them for the public to know. They were probably one of the biggest contributers to the Katrina relief, and still continue to regularly donate long after the tragedy.
Stop thinking the worste in people, and stand back to realize that some people really are genuine and just want to make the world a better place, and given the vehicles God has given them — they choose to do so. Tim and Faith are lovely people, and one day they will get that recognition they deserve.

AWESOME SHOW LAST NIGHT, TIM!
Great cause. The atmosphere was really laid-back, he was personable, joking, and the opening act was really good, too (the Lost Trailers). I loved how candid this was and in such an intimate setting. Once-in-a-lifetime experience to see him perform that way.
EVE DELL says:
