Kellie Pickler Encourages NYC Fans to Donate Shoes
You know that pair of black ones that never quite fit you right? Or those boots you swore you'd wear but then discovered they just don't go with anything? Well, Kellie Pickler wants them. She is going to find a home for all the shoes you don't want or need anymore. It's part of this huge Soles4Souls shoe drive she's doing with Ladies Home Journal in Madison Square Garden. "I love shoes but they are more than just a fashion statement, they are a necessity and not everyone has access to them because of financial reasons or natural disaster," Pickler says. So just bring the new and/or gently worn shoes to her show next Thursday (August 27). The drop box will be at the Garden's main entrance from 5 to 9 p.m. Then the charity will distribute them (one pair every 13 seconds, in fact) to people all over the world. I wonder if anyone will end up with a pair of Pickler's red high heels.

The only “competition” there is, is between FANS of artists who don’t allow for liking more than one artist at a time. I like pretty much everyone for their own individual sound, style, and personality. Why does one have to be BETTER, they’re just different and to each, his/her own.

Soles4Souls asked her to help just like they’ve asked many stars. How is that competing? I suppose some fans of others would be happy if she said no and people didn’t get the shoes they need.

All artists need more attention as you will see when your favorite artist’s new CD comes out soon and she will be everywhere again, so I don’t know why you have a problem with it. In this case a charity needs Kellie’s attention, not the other way around. If you or I ask people to donate shoes, the charity isn’t going to get tons of shoes. That’s why they need Kellie. She never slows down because she’s always touring. The shoe donation drop box is at her and Taylor’s sold out concert at Madison Square Garden. Kellie’s CD sales are fine. She’s in the Billboard top 20 country albums and the only albums selling more are those radio plays more and new releases. She can’t help that radio plays mostly males and just 2 females all the time. They should add another, Kellie Pickler, the only artist with the most radio hits on her albums that don’t get played enough.

Love Kellie’s CD too. I have both. She doesn’t need to do this charity work to sell CD’s. She’ll sell the same number of albums whether it be a million or a billion with or without charity work.
