Brad Paisley Debuts "Future" Video, Plus New Chris Young, Dierks Bentley, Gloriana, Mallary Hope

Posted: August 18th, 2009 at 5:00 pm  |  By: Chet Flippo

In this week's new entries screened by the CMT New Music Video Evaluation Panel, Brad Paisley debuts his journey through the future, Chris Young explores a dress drop and Gloriana and Dierks Bentley rev it up at their shows.

Artist: Brad Paisley
Video: "Welcome to the Future"
Director: Jim Shea

Brad Paisley devotes his usual careful attention to video detail to showcase what is probably his favorite song from his new album. And the detail shows off the song very well.

Panelists' comments: "Great video for a really good song." "I love the little kids talking about their ambitions." "Good job." "A very moving song and video."

Artist: Chris Young
Video: "Gettin' You Home"
Director: Stephen Shepherd

Chris Young sings a love song to his significant other, in which the dénouement -- he hopes -- is a black dress hitting the floor when they get home. Not much suspense there.

Panelists' comments: "Nice, low-key love song." "Not terribly subtle, but cute." "A solid video."

Artist: Gloriana
Video: "Wild at Heart" (Live)
Director: Chad Denning

Gloriana present a live video that also contains still photos from throughout their tour, showing stops in Spokane, St. Louis, Seattle and Colorado Springs -- among other cities.

Panelists' comments: "Didn't we already see this song?" "No." "They rock! I love Gloriana."

Artist: Dierks Bentley
Video: "Sideways" (Live)
Director: Shawn Hancock

Dierks Bentley revisits his hit song "Sideways" with a high-energy live video. He intros it in his Jeep en route to visit tailgaters at his concert. Then -- it's into the show.

Panelists' comments: "Didn't we already see this video? "Yeah -- a different live version." "Great song."

Artist: Mallary Hope
Video: "Love Lives On"
Director: Stephen Shepherd

This is the first single from young singer Mallary Hope -- from an EP that bears the song title. The song and the video are sad and pensive, all about mourning a lost true love.

Panelists' comments: "I love her voice." "I do, too. But I'm not sure that this song is the right one to show her talent." "Very sad."

Consensus: Brad Paisley's "Welcome to the Future" debuted in hot shot rotation on CMT on Monday (Aug. 17). Chris Young's "Gettin' You Home" debuted in medium rotation on Monday.

If I knew I could turn on CMT and see Chris Young’s “Black Dress” video within 15 minutes, I’d be watching a LOT. The song alone was nice, but with the video, it’s just HOT!

Chris Young is one talented lad :) I am so happy to seem in on CMT and in rotation. However, what is medium rotation? I see a HOT SHOT:)

Thank you so much for supporting Chris, his music and his videos. He is getting lots of radio airplay as well :)

Chris Young’s Gettin’ You Home is a winner! HOT & SEXY…it doesn’t get any better then Chris. Talent, good looks and a voice that melts all in one package. I expect to see this one hit #1 in record time!

“Gettin You Home” by Chris Young is probably one of the best videos that I have seen in quite some time. He made a video that showcases his great personality and sense of humor, not mention that rugged sexiness that is in itself just HOT!!! Chris is a great artist and a “friend” to his fans, not just a celebrity. Can’t wait to see this hit the Top 20 and zoom full speed ahead to #1!!!

Love the video Gettin You Home. It is totally Chris, from the rubber ducky all the way to the dress hitting the floor. Chris has a great sense of humor and an awesome personality and with those dimples and all that sex appeal, this video has to be a winner.

Chris Young’s new video is HOT, HOT, HOT. It is a sexy song sung by an incredibly talented young man….with dimples you just want to crawl into. If this video was on CMT hourly, I would never change my channel.
I can’t wait for 09/01/09…’The Man I Want To Be’ hits stores! I may buy every copy they have and just hand them out…everyone needs to be exposed to the amazing artist that Chris is.
