The Beatles Connect the Generations
It's hard to argue with The New York Times. They are reporting that the Beatles music may be helping to bridge today's generation gap in America. It's not clear whether the study actually set out to prove that, or if it was just a random finding. "There's now broad agreement across the generations about one realm of American culture that had been an intense battlefield in the 1960s: the music," the survey says. I can see how that kind of music would bring grandparents, parents and children together. You know what else is good for that? Country music. I don't have the data to support that yet, but I'm pretty sure it helps. This particular study found that people 65 and over prefer country music, and we know that young singers are bringing in a younger fan base. So it stands to reason that country music is loved by multiple age groups, thereby bridging the generation gap. Right?

I read that article and guess what?? Carrie Underwood ranks 9 and Garth Brooks ranks 10. Both Carrie and Garth are great singers and I would love to hear a duet from them. It would be great!!!
Kate says:
I saw that too. Carrie came in at #9 right after Frank Sinatra and just before Garth Brooks. How fantastic is that for a 26 year old in the business not quite 4 years. Way to go Carrie!!
Kate says:
Carrie Underwood and Garth Brooks are the only two country acts that made it on the list of 20.
