Clarkson, Spears Songwriter to Write for Carrie Underwood
Wait. Who's writing for Carrie Underwood's new album? Aren't there enough terrific songwriters in Nashville already? The folks at song publisher Warner/Chappell Music must not think so because they flew one of the R&B writers from their urban department, Claude Kelly, to Nashville to write for Underwood. The idea behind all this is to diversify a songwriter's talent. The boss at Warner/Chappell says, "Pop music today is a mishmash of everything -- it's a hip-hop song next to a rock song, with maybe a Taylor Swift country ballad that sneaks in. So to compete with the way things are now -- and to keep up with the iTunes market, where it's clearly a singles-driven business -- we had to take our writers and decide how to move forward." And I have a feeling they will. Kelly already has moved into pop, having co-written gigantic hits for Kelly Clarkson and Britney Spears ("My Life Would Suck Without You" and "Circus," respectively.) Can't wait to see what's in store for country.

Carrie has said she is working with a lot of different writers and if you look at the songs she has registered…a LOT of great writers from Nashville, too! just because she is working with pop writers that doesnt mean she’s going to record a pop album, she’s just collaborating with these writers because their trying new things. i love kelly c. and britney’s songs so i cant wait to see the outcome of her new country music!way to go to carrie and her team for working hard on this album, she is not a pop artist she is and always will be in country, she has said many many times she’s a country artist and that is where her heart is she will not go into any other genre. i think its genius what their doing..they are bringing writers from outside of nashville they are expanding their horizons and trying to make this album different, hot, and thats how she will grow by trying different things…i know carrie has a great ear for music every song she has picked for her last 2 albums have all went to # 1 i trust her judgement and i know she will make one heck of a country album !!

I doubt if any will be used - it’s just the publishing companies sending out their writer’s to work with a country star and see what they can do but I doubt they will have any on the next album - Carrie has written with many country writers to including Bill Anderson - I would bet on a Bill Anderson song making it on Carrie’s next album!

taylor cant sing, she can play guitar and write her own kiddy songs about fairytales and happy endings but everyone knows that life isnt about fairytales so how does anyone relate to those songs? i dont see anything special about her,other then she’s just another pretty face who doesnt “wow” anyone with her singing capabilities, she is marketed very well and thats why she is so popular, it is not based on talent alone. her voice is medicore if even that. if i had to choose i rather listen to jessica simpson and that isnt anymore pleasing to the ears then listening to taylor, but at least jessica sounds a teeny bit better. taylor has a huge fanbase based on teeny boppers, i couldnt imagine adults relating to her?? its all bubblegum.

Yes, samantha it was about Carrie til Noah brought Taylor into it. The kids can’t stand that Carrie is so talented and will see out any opportunity to attack Carrie’s fans. They’re all children, so they don’t bother me. I know good music when I hear it, and the same ole boy crush song one after another, sung by a mediocre singer at best is not what I find entertaining. She doesn’t have a good voice and true, her songs were fun at first but after a while, it kinda gets old. The only reason she’s considered “talented” is because she writes her own songs. But she’s not gonna be a teen forever and after a while, she’s gonna look silly still singing about white horses and cheerleaders.
