Déjà Vu for Tim McGraw
Those damn country fans. You can't live with 'em, and you couldn't live without them. But when they get unruly, Tim McGraw does not want them around. And last night (July 26) at his show in Paso Robles, Calif., the local newspaper is reporting he stopped his singing to have a man escorted out for allegedly mistreating a woman. The story doesn't say if the man was physically abusing her or if he just failed to pull out her chair for her. But whatever it was, it was enough to make McGraw remark to the man and the crowd, "You don't treat a woman like that." Then he said he wouldn't go on performing until the man was good and gone. At least this time, though, McGraw didn't have to take matters into his own hands or have his wife give a lecture on class.

CJ says:
Good for him! We need more men like him .You would think these fans would learn not to at his shows.
ADDY says:
NOW THAT IS A REAL MAN…Faith is one lucky woman. As a country music (esp Tim & Faith) fan, I am proud to read this. I have a young son and I am glad there are male celebrities like Tim out there to be good role models.
Jenn says:
Tim and Faith are dead to me. Don’t care whether I hear from them again.
jeremey says:
And why did you bring this up a year later? Ti won’t see the likes of his last year concerts for some time to come. Even that’s too soon for me.
April says:
Tim who?
Lucy says:
Good for Tim!!!!!!!! What’s wrong with the men.
Janetgijoenurse says:
BTW the audience applauded Tim. All he did was call the guy out and then security escorted him off the premises.
Dillan says:
Leave it to Alison to write a TMZisque blog. Nothing against her personally or her writing in general..Leave it to the people who have zero class themselves to write negative comments about two people (Tim and Faith) who try to be halfway decent people. Take away your behind the computer muscles, you wouldn’t say anything to their face.
I’m just saying…Maybe the few moments you took to write this is is better spent looking at yourself in the mirror. Probaly would make the world a better place.
betty says:
Good for Tim, It shows he has respect for woman and his fans, who are trying to enjoy his concerts. I wouldnt want people near me while Im enjoying a true man singing.
TierraStudios says:
That’s great to hear! I’m glad he did something about it because people these days have no decency to stand up for what they believe in, regardless of how abusive the man may have been.
S says:
I applaud Tim for calling the guy out. A lot of people would have looked the other way.
marilyn says:
Looking at myself in the mirror, I can assure you that Tim isn’t all that anymore nor is his wife. They are the most boring country duo in music today and yesterday. They really don’t offer anything except bubble gum to adult music.
martinez1943 says:
To all of you bashing Tim, just because you wouldn’t do anything about an idiot in the crowd doesn’t make tim a bad guy.By the wqy he is the most entertaining country artist out there, so you people that think you can do better go ahead and try!!!I dare you.
Debbie says:
Now how many of the previous comments come from non-country music lovers? Probably a lot. I just attended a Tim McGraw concert last weekend and I would pay twice that to do it again. He doesn’t need all the hype that bands like Kiss etc need. He performs with pure talent! Being a women’s shelter supporter, I applaud Tim’s actions. Mistreatment of anyone starts out small and grows. If the man can’t behave at a concert then he has no business being there…..i certainly would have done the same thing. As for Tim and Faith….so what if you think they are boring….they would probably think the same about you. They are devoted to their children and family, who come first to each other, and that’s the way it should be. Maybe the idiot escorted out should take some lessons from those that treat others with respect.
Alexis says:
I’m a country music lover and never found mcgraw to that much of an entertainer. The Great Men of country are Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney ,Keith Urban and Jamie Johnson. These guys actually perform with their musical instrumental talents as well as their exceptional country music voices. Tim just walks and hoots and hollas at a great.
Julie says:
Jeremy, It wasn’t a year later, it was this past weekend
Sally says:
I’m glad Tim had that guy escorted out! Whatever happened last night I may have not seen it from where I was at the concert last night but Tim obviously did. It’s his concert and as far as Im concerned he can have anyone kicked out for disrupting in any way!!
Janetgijoenurse says:
Alexis guess the country fans don’t think so its Tim by Billboard that will be the BEST selling country artist for he DECADE. And #3 in ALL of music. Brad is nowhere to be seen in the Top 100 OR Keith.
In fact Keith and Brad with all their albums have sold ONLY 10 million; Tim has sold 40 million and over 24 million just this decade.
Even Kenny hasn’t sold as much as Tim but he has put out 5 more albums than Tim.
Keith or Brad have NEVER had the #1 Country tour of the year, Tim has many times.
Guess the country fans spending the money don’t agree with you
janet says:
way to go, tim. you are a true human being
janet says:
way to go, tim. you are a true human being.
Rachel says:
Aw, Tim is the best. =]
This is why I love country music so much. The men know how to treat a lady right.
sydney says:
Just because Billboard has Tim at No 3 best of all time doesn’t mean he has good music and is a great entertainer. It’s the ignorance of the fans that leads this ignoramus singers to buy his albums. Heck Britney Spears was hot at one time and she could never sing, now it’s Taylor Swift. It’s all about the money!!!!
Ken says:
Four words about this…. Shut up And Sing! That is why the fans pay money to go see him and not him having some guy thrown out that a security guard could have done.
Ken says:
Exactly Janet!! It was Tim that had to play security guard instead of singing! I read it just fine! I wouldn’t want to pay my money to see the entertainer play security for their own concert and stopping the show just to get one unruley fan escorted out. That is what security is for so why don’t you take your own advice and keep your own trap shut.
JP says:
I was at the concert last night & it was a great concert. I agree there are better country singers out there, George Strait, Chris Ledoux, Kenney Chesney, to name a few. But either way you look at it, he’s a great entertainer, the numbers don’t lie. And actually being there & seeing what went down, I think he was totally justified in his actions.
…and SYDNEY, how did Taylor Swift get brought into the mix in your previous rant? She’s probably one of the most talented acts out there. She’s not only plays her own music, but writes it too. And has accomplished all that she has at the age of 19! This girl is going places
Pat says:
Thanks Alison for recounting this incident…too bad folks can’t just comment on whether or not to call out a misbehaving fan without attacking Tim personally….and Faith wasn’t even involved so why demean her in the process…I continue to find them to be solid performers who put out music that I happen to enjoy…thanks again and congrats to Tim for standing up for his beliefs…
CarlaG says:
Everyone is going to have a different opinion. I think Tim and Faith had their love fest in the sun and now the sun has gone down. Neither can do without each other production wise. Tim was a fad in the 90’s decade, but he has lost his touch. People and fans have moved on. It happens to many, many singers.
Janetgijoenurse says:
CarlaG Tim a fad in the 90’s so how come he sold MORE albums in country music THIS DECADE than ANY other country artists that includes Keith, George, Alan, Brad, Toby, Rascal Flatts and any other one else you would like to name in country music.
Bet Brad would like to be a fad and sell like that instead he has only sold just over 10 million with 8 albums. Are Keith with all his albums has not even sold 11 million.
Still don’t see that Kenny, Toby or Brad have EVER had the #1 tour of the year. Tim has SIX times and only three were with Faith.
Leys see Brad’s current album sold 130,000 the first week and that was a drop of his highest of 197,000 we will see how many Tim’s sales his first week in october.
With all Brad #1 hits at radio he still CAN”T sell the albums, has ONLY one that has sold 3 million.
Tim’s Let It Go album that had only one week a #1 with the radio singles, SOLD more than Brad’s 5th Gear that had four number one singles, why is that?
Janetgijoenurse says:
Error should of been Toby, Keith and Brad never had the #1 tour of the year. As for awards they mean nothing its all politics with the CMA and ACM’s. Kenny happens to be with the right label.
Tim has won 4 Grammy’s dont see Kenny with any. Tim has won 9 AMA that are based on sales, Kenny has only won one, Brad has only won one.
TNgirl says:
Janetgijoenures, You say awards are are all politics with the ACM’s & CMA’s and then you brag on Tim winning Grammy’s and AMA’s, whats that, their all voted on the same say. Although I do agree about all the award shows being politics.
I think you can’t handle anyone saying anything bad about Tim. No one really cares about his sells or anyone else your the only one who keeps bringing it up.
Janetgijoenurse says:
Well when someone says he was a fad in the 90’s and say he is a has been, I am going to set the record straight.
Tim has sold 30 million more albums than Brad and Keith, he has sold over 12 million more albums than Toby and Kenny and they have put out MORE albums than Tim.
Tim has two albums that have sold 6 MILLION, Toby’s highest selling album is at 4.4 million and Kenny’s highest selling album is 4.2 million.
Tim has had THREE network TV specials, Toby and Brad zero, Kenny had one and got such bad ratings he will probadly never have another one.
So you can knock Tim all you want but where it counts in album sales he beats Brad, Kenny and Toby,
Also Tim has more #1’s than Kenny, Toby and Brad and has spent more weeks at #1 than all three of them.
All by the way November he will in another movie where he has one of the lead parts and Sandra Bullock plays his wife.
Sunny says:
On some level I’ve to agree with Ken. Security is there for a reason and they should handle this. An artist might have a better view from the stage. But if an artist sees some misbehavior he should notify security and let them handle it, for his own safety eventually and for the audience to enjoy the concert. It feels a bit contrived when acted out so publicly.
Nikki says:
Well done Tim, as always you “ROCK” we gals can always count on fine men like you to look out for us and btw in my opo you are and always will be number 1, there still isn’t anyone out there who can come close to you and as far as I am concerned there never will be. I adore you your an awesome artist and as far as I am concerned you always will be the EOTY! Shame on the folks in Nashville and all the crappy politics! Oh and thanks Janet much oblidged its kool to know theres folks out there looking out for our Tim. I too find it so old and lame when they’ve nothing better to do than trash him, but it just shows us how they really feel, if he didn’t get under their skin so much cause he is so very fine they wouldn’t bother to comment lol….you take good care of yourself Janet! Looking forward to the new cd Tim, lovin your new single!
SarahBeth says:
janet can’t you read? That person said a fad in the 90’s decade you moron. Do you know how many years are in a decade? Guess not! You are a Tim fan!lol!
Jocelyn says:
Tim is the biggest doofus. If he only had hair to hide the brain he never had.
TNgirl says:
Janetgijoenurse, Are you really Faith or are you on Tim’s payroll because you have to be his biggest fan ever!!
You are a huge cheerleader for Tim. If he don’t pay you than you should request a PR job from him. I think you would be wonderful for this, Tim needs to read your post maybe his head will swell even more.
BTW, King George has more #1’s than Tim, Kenny, Toby, Brad or Kieth.
Meghan says:
I personally hate Tim’s music and singing. I don’t what all the fuss is about him. Someone else writes the songs he sings and he decapitates them with his monotone, dull voice. Tim has one tune and that’s out of tune.
TNgirl says:
Molly6, But they are voted on the same way but by everyone in music, not just country. It still comes down to who you know.
kathy says:
Allison, you should call this blog, “Let’s get ready to rumble” LOL you all crack me up!!!
Janetgijoenurse says:
Sunny what don’t you understand. Tim DID let security handle it. He had finished HIS song and saw what was happening and told the guy you don’t treat women like that and then HE CALLED for security to remove him. Tim didn’t leave the stage all he did was call for security since he was in a postion to see what happen. Then went on to the next song.
TIM DID NOT HANDLE IT HE CALLED FOR SECURITY AND THEY REMEOVED THE GUY AND THE SHOW WENT ON.
Sunny says:
JanetgijoeNURSE:
your nick hints at medical training. Use your connections: get therapy and then a real life.
Christine says:
Well, there is security right there, if they seen something wrong, they should have taken care of it. To stop a concert and not sing because a guy was being (maybe) unruly, I think is not in good taste. Or if this guy was that bad the girl would have walked away and went & got help herself. I wouldn’t want to pay all that money and have a concert stopped.
How does anyone know the truth about this, how do we know that this guy & girl weren’t goofing off. And he also has not said anything yet about it. Were are the reports of this in the newspaper or anyone that witness it or on youtube or this girl pressing charges?
Tim is a great singer, but just get on with the show!
But wait until your done singing a song & tell security to see what was going on with these people.
AnnaKate says:
I surely would pay for a show that Tim is policing rather than singing. If there isn’t enough security he shouldn’t have a concert. Plain and Simple! P.S. For some reason I think Tim is trying to draw more attention to himself. He must be having some Diva problems.
MiaT says:
I can’t believe all these posts…Lets face the fact, which is, Tim called the guy out and security handled the rest. Tim really watches the crowd when he performs. Thanks for looking out for us Tim !!!
Joanie says:
Tim just needs to shut up and sing. He just wants the attention that has been drawing in for him by pretending to be a hero by some damsel in distress. I believe if anything, he probably stages these things so he can be called an “all around , good guy gentleman”. Sorry buddy but if the music and concert is not going well, doing stage useless drama to sell to the crowd. Work on your own flaws and singing material.
Sabrina says:
Tim thought he called someone out, and if he was paying attention to what he was suppose to be doing he wouldn’t have made a fool out of himself, which prob will hit the headlines soon, go and research this and find the real facts on this. Since he got all this attention in the media, well he needs to apologize in the media to this REAL MAN.
There are stories all over the internet on how he screwed up. He should really not “WATCH” the crowd and just sing the tunes. He is not security, he is the entertainer, entertain the crowd.
People calling him a REAL MAN, hmmm…. so he yelled at someone, stopped the show (these people weren’t hurting him or anyone else), and he yelled at the wrong person. And then got this person kicked out of there. What a fool he is.
At least his wife when she stuck up for him after someone grabbed his private area, just continued the show, didn’t stop it, said her few words, and continued to sing, and of course she was sticking up for him. He wasn’t MAN ENOUGH to take care of himself and get this woman kicked out of there and Faith didn’t stop the show for something that pertained to themselves. But he stops a show that pertains to someone he screwed up on that he doesn’t even know & Faith didn’t even get this person kicked out of there. He should take some lessons from his wife.
carla1211 says:
What is Tim’s problem? This is no way to treat a paying concert goer either. Why doesn’t he just quit singing the dumbest songs ever and get a job as a body guard at concerts.
Maybe he should be a police officer if he wants that kind of attention. Maybe he should mind his own business too.
Always Right says:
Publicity Stunt #2.
Kimmie says:
A bunch of girls fighting, man trying to break it up. Man gets kicked out of concert because he was the one being the man, not Tim, he should mind his own business.
Hope Tim refunds this mans money. And an apology.
And the clip they have of him stopping his song and saying to get this guy out of there, Tim is trying to look macho…I think not Tim.
I agree, Publicity Stunt #2.
Gillian says:
Seems to me Tim is feeling the “what old age can do to an old washed up singer” blues. He’ll do anything to draw attention to the so called “damsel in distress” to sell albums. I wonder if there were more than one incidents he didn’t see that night. Shame on Tim for not noticing and policing the people all the way in the back.
Allie says:
TMZ site has all the negative sides to Tim’s rant. I wonder if this is part of his shows now. Claiming innocent men beating up women. Maybe he can write a song about it. Oh never mind, he can’t write songs!
Wanda Kunz says:
You know Tim is a great guy and I love his music, however I paid really good money to see him at the Oregon Jamboree where he flung water bottles off his equipment box and told the audience “If you are going to sit down so am I”. We had been in 90 to 100 degree heat since 10:00 am and he came on in the cool evening. There are elderly people that can hardly walk let alone stand up the entire length of a concert. When the younger crowd does stand up then the those who cannot stand, can’t see. It is not a reflection on the entertainer, it is old age and the elderly paid just as much for their ticket whether they stand or sit. So entertainers should lighten up and don’t take it personally when the audience doesn’t stand. We love Tim’s music and we love him as a person, family man and what he stands for like helping this woman. I hope this comment finds it’s way to Mr. McGraw.
Nicole says:
If the woman had not took personal things into her own hands Faith wouldn’t have to give a lecture to anyone and I myself have met both Faith and Tim and find it very refreshing to know that they are human beings like us and have values. If adults can not act with respect to each other nor the other fans that have paid money to buy tickets or more importantly take their kids to, then I myself feel they should stay at home or like I was always told and the good book says treat others like you want to be treated but if you lay down with dogs you will get fleas so in Faith’s defense I say if you can’t keep your bitch on a chain keep her at home and in Tim’s defense I am very glad that he who is looked up to by so many kids acts like such a gentleman!
EVE DELL says:
I [and we] admire and deeply appreciate Tim and Faith;s
