Top 10 Tracks I'm Digging Right Now

Posted: July 20th, 2009 at 11:04 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Rascal FlattsIt was an unofficial Rascal Flatts fest this weekend in Chicago with their history-making show at Wrigley Field. And while that would probably have lesser fans thinking, "Enough is enough," I find myself still pining for that uber twang I heard in Gary Levox' voice. The kind that makes a song unmistakably country. So I set out to find the most distinctive twangs and drawls I could find. If there are any obvious ones I left off this list, please let me know so I can add them.

"Backwards," Rascal Flatts
"Steve Earle," Sugarland
"Pray About Everything," Luke Bryan
"I Do but I Don't," Tim McGraw
"Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House," Garth Brooks
"Blame It on Your Heart," Patty Loveless
"The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia," Reba McEntire
"I'll Think of a Reason Later," Lee Ann Womack
"Marry for Money," Trace Adkins
"Find Out Who Your Friends Are," Tracy Lawrence

Beautiful song recently discovered: “Let it Out” by George Canyon. Canadian guy I think? No uber-twang but one of those country songs destined to be a big hit, maybe. Do you think it’s pretty or maybe I’m just crazy…

My absolute favorite Country female ‘Sara Evans’ has a beautiful Country Twang. You included my favorite male, Tracy Lawrence, one of the best Country sounding voices around!!

No one has more twang in their voice than Reba. Reba oaklahoma accent comes across in almost every song she sings. Just watch Reba sing why haven’t I heard from you and the twang really shines through. Twang makes a country song more genuine, well,at least to me. If there is fan of Reba who reads this go check out her album preview on her website.

Haven’t checked out the new JB one yet, maybe I will now. Can you imagine these Pop fans ever checking out any different music? These people are so boring. They are Pop fanatics, not music lovers.

Luke Bryan is the best siner, he has a real country voice, not a fake one. His songs are terrific. I own his CD, and I am getting “Doin My Thin” CD on my birthday, Oct. 6th. Luke is and will always be my favorite singer.

It is hard to find that true country in today’s time, but Luke Bryan is a true country twang. I absolutely love “Pray About Everything” and wish it could have been released as a single. Anyone looking for some true country music should check out his album I’ll Stay Me and catch him in concert. It is an amazing show!
