Miley Cyrus' $25 Million Puts Her in Seventh Place
She's only in seventh place on this particular list. But still. Making $25 million in one year would probably put her at the very top of 25 million other lists. That's how much Miley Ray Cyrus, 16, made last year. And on this list (the Forbes' list of big earners under the age of 30), Taylor Swift, 19, came in at No. 12 with $18 million. Having that much money must seem so surreal. Especially before you're 30 and aren't worrying about things like college tuition, braces, second mortgages and long-term health insurance. If you were earning like that when you were that young, how would you have spent it?

That is so ridiculous that a 16 year old makes that much money! I read in a magazine though that her parents don’t treat her as a superstar, they take all of her earnings and manage it themselves. But she still does get an allowance!

WOW thats amazing but she stil is only 16 i wouldnt be able to take in all the drama and all of that stuff it would be too much for me but thats just ME and im no one special but appparently miley cyrus is….i love her songs and she is an inspiration to me and my friends and family but that would be too much for me to handle all of the GLAMOUR AND GLITZ!!!! im a girl and most girls are all glamour and glitz and they wanna be famous but not me but again that is just me!!!

Poeple if you are lucky enough to have you parents, spend as much time with them and do as much for them as possible because one day they will be gone.
I lost both of mine in 1999, 10 years ago, and it feels like yesterday sometimes.
Truth is we never know when a life is going to be cut short, rich or poor, look at Michael Jackson. Case in point.
Love one another, be kind to one another.
If I had that kind of money at that age I would have boutht my parents a home and seen to it they neve had to work another day in their lives.

Second…the cmt website features much more than Country (Pop or Roots), and third Pop music is NOT an individual genre of music. Pop Music consists of MANY genres of music, including Country, but there is also Rock, R&B, Rap, Adult Contemporary, Hip Hip, etc. that is all a Part of Pop Music. This is part of “Basic Music Fundamentals” that I believe everyone who listens to music should know. I hope this clears up any confusion on your part, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask. What is “country” music today, it’s sure not Hank Sr sounding music, it seems as if you’ve got a vague “country” accent and on a label with an office in Nashville anything you come up with is “country”, 90% of it is really soft rock or “adult contemporary” with a fiddle or banjo thrown in and maybe a reference to a southern state or another country singer to make it more “country”. Miley is as country as anyone else on the country charts and more “hillbilly” than most. If country was really still country it would have given BRC’s “Thrillbilly” a chance on the charts.

goldie why are so so obsessed with Carrie. Did you know that not everyone that says Taylor can’t sing is a Carrie Fan? Anyone with any knowledge of music and see that Taylor is a poor vocalist, but yet you seem to think it is only Carrie fans. That sounds like envy or denial to me. Did you know that Carrie has been voted BEST vocalist 3 years in a row by MUSIC PROFESSIONALS? Not just kiddies on a message board, power voting online. Carrie is a phenomenal singer. Taylor can’t carry a tune in a bucket. There are many, many female voices that are FAR better than Taylor, Carrie is just one of them.

As far as your statement about missing real Country music, I listen to Country music everyday, and don’t hear one bit of the two you mention. If you miss it so much, why don’t you look for it where it’s at? Cause it’s still out there, as good as ever. You just need to start by turning off your commercial FM radio dial.
Did you listen to Wayne Hancock’s new music yet? have you explored any of the other blogs on here, talking about the artists that aren’t played on commercial radio?

Not only do they have Americana/Roots music on this website, they have Heavy Metal, Pop Rock, Death Metal, Death Country, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Folk, Big Band, Roots Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, Ska, and many other genres of music here. It’s very informative. You should check it out sometime. Do you know what an advocate is? I’m sorry you think I’m a nuisance. Some things can’t be avoided I guess. Miley Cyrus is an untalented pop singer, why is she being talked about on CMT.com? She cannot sing one note and the fact that she is making that much money is sickening. There are so many people who are incredibly talented but never will be famous because people like Miley Cyrus are ruining music!

Fame takes a lot of work- she is working like an adult.
Losing childhood has messed up many entertainers; actors; and famous pop stars when they became adults, history has shown.

I agree with kat that a lot of child stars get “messed up.” But then again, a lot of stars in general get “messed up,” and a lot of regular people are pretty “messed up” as well.
Its worth remembering that celebrities arent the only alcoholics, spouse abusers, drunk drivers, out there: but their transgressions get a lot of publicity whereas the transgressions of us more anonymous people tend not to make the front page.
I wonder if celebrities, or youthful celebrities, are more “messed up” than your average person.
But if they are,at least they have a lot of money to buy the best psychologists!

I think that the fact of Miley making that much money a year is completely amazing. Whatever you think about her; you cannout take away how much she puts herself through. She works 24/7/365. She earns every cent of that fortune.
Also; I love her voice. I can relate to it; and even when its edited; anyone can sing to the tune. I think she is a very down to earth girl; who likes to have a good time.
As for her pictures?
She made a mistake TWO years ago. Dont go on about it;
put yourself in her shoes - would you want people to remind you of your mistakes every day of your life?
As for Taylor?
Taylor comes off as an absolute sweetheart. She is one of the best songwriters I have heard in a while. && I think she has an amazing voice. I only have high hopes for her :]
