Martina McBride: Singing at Jonas Brother's Wedding?
She doesn't really fit the image of a wedding singer, does she? But Martina McBride is perhaps going to be singing at Kevin Jonas' upcoming wedding. "I wouldn't say we hang out and we're really close friends, but we have connected quite a few times," McBride told OK! magazine. "They're really serious about their music, really good kids. I got to meet their parents." And Kevin's younger bro, Nick, just did some recording in McBride's Blackbird Studio in Nashville. When that happened, McBride's husband John told him, "I just want to tell you we will try for our daughters not to stalk you while you're here."
And McBride is going to sing her newest love song, "I Just Call You Mine," at the Today Show wedding on Wednesday (July 15), and has written a blog about how it feels to married for 21 years. (She and her husband love each other's company and accept each other's faults.)

It has nothing to do with me liking her music or not. Look at the picture. Don’t you think it has elements of contortedness in it? By the way, I thought she did a good job on her Timeless CD. At least she didn’t scream(much). I also thinks it’s nice, she has something to fall back on by being a wedding singer. She certainly is no longer a force in today’s Pop Country music scene. She’s been replaced. Which by definition is part of the business. She never has been nor ever will be part of today’s Americana/Roots music scene, so I see it as, she’s got to do what she’s got to do.

Martina has an incredible vocal range and perfect pitch. A lot of the younger singers today could take a lesson from her. The fans of these younger singers probably view Martina as old and more their mother’s age so probably don’t buy her music. It’s too bad because in my opinion Martina could blow them all out of the water.

who said she was a force in country music? also she was never part of the americana/roots and was always pop country. she is a hard working lady and wants to make her type of music, which is still very popular. there comes a time for all performers to take their place and let the new comers come out. just because she is 42 does not mean she should quit doing what she loves. she looks better than ever and can still sing a powerful song. i agree the timeless cd was great and the radio did not play it, she made the cd want it was without the help of radio. it sold millions without the constant radio play that must artists get.

Well…maybe she wasn’t a force in Pop Country. I thought she was at one time. Several Pop radio hits, many Pop Country awards. I guess I was crediting her with more than she’s achieved as a Pop act. However, if you know about her…she must have had SOME Pop success. As I recall, you don’t seem to venture out of your comfort zone very often, if at all. I never said she could quit doing what she loves, she just can’t be expected to be recognized in the Pop industry like before, if she ever was. According to you that wasn’t much in the first place.

i want to correct myself, martina was a force in country music, she was 4 times female vocalist of the year,many top ten songs and is considered one of the most loved singers in country music. she still commands the stage and will soon depart on a tour of england.
