A Trisha Yearwood Playlist to Hold You Over

Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 10:08 am  |  By: Craig Shelburne

Trisha YearwoodAre you ready for a new Trisha Yearwood album? I know I am. In the meantime, I sifted through all the remarkable albums she made for MCA and scribbled down some top-notch album cuts. Then I dug through some compilations and soundtracks to round out this playlist. If you're only familiar with the hits, you may not recognize any of these tracks. But if you're a longtime fan like me, these songs remember when subtlety and vulnerability were valued traits in country singers. I'm hoping that she's working on another album but I do know this: Another cookbook is on the way. Woo hoo!

"Back Home Again"
"For a While"
"Harmless Heart"
"Heart Like a Sad Song"
"Hearts in Armor"
"I Don't Fall in Love So Easy"
"I Don't Want to Be the One"
"I'm Still Alive"
"Little Hercules"
"Lonesome Dove"
"Lying to the Moon"
"Melancholy Blue"
"O Mexico"
"Some Days"
"Something So Right"
"To Make You Feel My Love"
"Try Me"
"Under the Rainbow"
"When We Were Still in Love"
"Woman Walk the Line"

Trisha’s great in ALL songs, but my fave will always be, “She’s in love with the boy.”

This is an excellent playlist. I’m not sure I remember ‘Back Home Again’, but the rest are all favorites. I keep hoping as fine a song stylist half as good will come along.

Trisha is one of the Country Singers that can sing anything. I can not wait for her new Album.

This is a good and varied playlist, not relying on just hits.

My favorite listed: a tie: I Don’t Want to Be the One/Harmless Heart
My favorites not listed: I Just Don’t Understand/River of You
My favorite Linda Ronstadt song I wish Trisha would record: The Moon is a Harsh Mistress (only TY could do a Ronstadt country song justice)

Can’t wait for that new CD!!
