Watch Carrie Underwood Live Happily Ever Ever After

Posted: July 7th, 2009 at 3:18 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Carrie UnderwoodLast night, my daughter asked me what my favorite video was. It was Garth Brooks' "The Red Strokes," but I am close to switching over to Lady Antebellum's "I Run to You." When I asked her hers, she said, "The one where Carrie Underwood's a cartoon." Huh? She said, "You know, she starts out as a cartoon, then she's a princess." I told her she might need to lay off the Popsicles, but then I found what she was talking about. It's not quite a country song, but it's Underwood's video that must've run on the Disney Channel when the movie Enchanted was out. She a princess, all right, complete with the crown, the Prince Charming and the happy fairy tale ending. It's adorable for girls of all ages.

Great blog Alison. Your daughter has good taste. Carrie is like a princess. The way she lives her life. How she Carries herself and the love in her heart. Her parents must be very pleased to have her as there daughter. No one is perfect but she is right up there.

Carrie is classy..and her vocals are spot on with this song and video……she can go “cartoony” without being immature and still making the older fans love it…

Disney said they used Carrie because they considered her to be America’s princess. Love the video. It was included with the Enchanted soundtrack cd. I purchased it for my little granddaughters Christmas 2007 and they love it. Agree with Shayna — vocals are spot on. Carrie, however, said Ever After was one of the most difficult songs she has ever had to sing. Found that interesting since she did such an outstanding job (as usual). Nice blog Alison.

I love the song Ever Ever After and I loved the Disney Movie “Enchanted” - the Cartoon part in Carrie’s video was to mirror the movie which started out as a cartoon and switched to real life in New York City - they also included Carrie’s video as a bonus with the special edition home video of the movie “Enchanted”

Fairy tale, princess, disney channel…it all sounds so familiar….oh yeah, Carrie fans giving Taylor crap for doing a video like that. But of course when a Carrie video contains the exact same elements, it’s somehow great. Kinda like when they bagged on Taylor for re-releasing a deluxe edition of her first cd. Then when Carrie did the EXACT SAME THING with her second cd, it was suddenly great. Kinda like when the CMT awards were a geniune great award show, where the fans get to decide the winner. Then when Taylor comes in and sweeps the awards and leaves Carrie in the dust, the awards are bogus and not meaningful at all. Carrie fans give Taylor all kinds of crap for things that Carrie herself has done as well. They also praise Carrie for things that she copied off of other artists. Such as her video for All-American Girl. The video is the same concept as Faith’s The Way You Love Me, except Faith’s video didn’t look cheaply made and wasn’t her just thrown in front of a green screen for the entire video. But of course Carrie fans claim that her video was way better, and she (somehow) took the concept to a new level (maybe a few steps down, perhaps). And I Told You So. A great country song by Randy Travis that Carrie redid. Let’s not forget Independence Day by Martina McBride. Both songs that the original artists blew away, and Carrie did a good job on, but not outstanding. But ask the fans, and Carrie’s versions were light years ahead of the original artists. I’ve come to get used to their endless praise of Carrie, and talking down every other artists out there. One artist will do something that is a terrible idea, then Carrie will do it the next month and it is suddenly the best thing ever.

why cant just people admit that taylor is a great songwriter (not vocalist) and carrie is a great vocalist (maybe even a good songwriter but we have yet to see it in song she has written all by herself)and just move on

  • Jordyn says:

    Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 1:12 am

hey tim- theres a big difference between being on one disney movie just for a song and going on tons of disney stuff like the hannah montana movie and all other baby disney things like that. also, people need to stop comparing taylor and carrie. thats like comparing a tee ball baseball team to a major league baseball team. carrie didnt only get female vocalist for the last 3 years, but she is also entertainer of the year!! so people, stop comparing taylor to carrie!!! start comparing her to people that scream when they sing!!!!

  • luckyone says:

Disney chose Carrie to sing it because they love her voice. Taylor sings Disney song, and not to well. BIG DIFFERENCE

  • luckyone says:

    Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 7:37 am

Bobby, it’s not just the Carrie fans that praise her. The music industry does the same. Does 3 consecutive CMA AND ACM BEST Female vocalist sound familiar? She is the perreniel BEST SINGER, ACCORDING TO NASHVILLE FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS RUNNING. Get over it…it’s not JUST Carrie fans, it’s people who study music for a LIVING…they know a lot more than the bitter Taylor fans that can’t stand the fact that Carrie’s awards are for TALENT, while Taylor’s are bought.

  • luckyone says:

So Carrie Underwood singing one song for a Disney Movie, not a song that was ever released to COUNTRY radio is the same as all the songs that Taylor Swift has written, put on a “country”? album and sent to radio, mixed and remixed. The logic of Taylor Swift fans is intriguing. I’m still fascinated with that game they play. You know the one where they say, “I know Taylor didn’t sound so great live but(enter today’s excuse here). Good stuff.

yeah like i said we have to stop comparing anytime a taylor fan trys to ill simply say who is the entertainer of the year and female vocalist? cause last time i checked it ccertaintly isnt taylor. its carrie!!!!

Bobby if Carrie fans are so bad why do you waste your time reading what they write. I get so tired of people saying that Carrie fans say this and that when all I ever she is non Carrie fans saying stuff. Carrie is awesome and I really never see Carrie fans comparing Carrie to other artists. Why would they? She is doing great. I think you are just taking every opportunity to spread your opinion..true or not.

carrie fans dont bash taylor for being disney!…thats an ignorant comment,Tim.
by the way, “ever, ever, after” was appropriate for the movie “enchanted” made by DISNEY…so thats why shes singing a “disney song”, not a country song?…isnt that obvious!…..they wanted a big powerful beautiful voice the kind that can reach the high notes…carrie was very fitting for the song!….disney productins made a good choice giving the song to carrie. thats the wonderful thing about carrie she can sing country, pop, 80’s rock, metal, disney, she is very versatile..she is a hell of a singer….i dont know why taylor (some not all theres actually some nice taylor fans out there) have to say we carrie fans are alwasy bashing especially when this story has nothing to do with taylor its like you have the problem for even bringing this up….
by the way ot of curiosity, what do you know about carrie fans we all dont dislike taylor, im sure their are some fans who do bash her, but you know what? their are taylor fans who do the same to carrie, what do you think you all are saints?? “puleeease”…i have nothing against her i like some of her songs she isnt my favorite but i think she has good morals and is a dam good role model…dont judge us all to be rude carrie fans, Tim, thats not nice to stereotype just one type of fans, fans from every artists have their nice and their rude set of fans, DONT HATE ON US, when everyone is doing the same to other artist!.

  • Robert says:

    Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 12:19 pm

Amazing vocal performance by Carrie, as usual. She can sing the ABCs and give a grammy winning vocal performance. Great song, great movie (Enchanted), and cute video!

By the way, Carrie’s vocals blow Taylor away so much on this song, that is embarassing for Taylor. If I were Taylor, I would just be a songwriter and stop pretending to be a singer, when she so clearly cannot carry a tune to save her life. Someone needs to sit down with Taylor and tell her the truth about her voice.

  • Robert says:

    Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Simon: He who has the last laugh, laughs best.. and Carrie fans are laughing at you all the way to the bank for being so blind.

First, this song was never meant to be a country song. Allison Bonaru, this song was on the soundtrack for the movie Enchanted, and it is played in the movie in the closing scene.

The song even was nominated for a Grammy this year, but it lost to Peter Gabriel I think.

The video and song were never intended for country radio. It was specifically for the Disney Movie.

carrie also was invited to the movie premiere, and she got to hang out with Dr. Dreamy from Grey’s anatomy and Amy Adams, who starred in the movie. It was a great night for Carrie.

you know what…taylor fans i dont like you guys, you guys are so rude and all you guys want to do is compare and argue…taylor this and carrie that…”why” because carrie can carry a note and taylor cant…are you bitter that carrie has the vocal range and taylor is limited??…i dont say nothing bad about taylor because shes just an artists doing her thing i have a problem with her insecure bitter fans, i have had enough of you people who start arguments, its about carrie not once in this story was taylor’s name mentioned…so what is your problem? taylor is good girl seems like a nice person, plays guitar, is a good song writer i give her credit she works hard, but vocally “com’on” hands down carrie is the singer with or without her guitar…disney or heavy metal, country-pop, or gospel…her voice is the best of the two…admit that get out of denial and shove all your negative remarks where the sun dont shine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jordin says:

    Posted: July 8th, 2009 at 12:54 pm

its okay, carrie fans its okay…at the end of the day when all is said and done, the facts dont change. carrie is an amazing vocalist she has an awesome range she can sing any song outside from country shes a strong singer and no one can take that away from her they can try by all the bashing, but thats all they can do is bash.she’s successfull for a reason, people love to hear her sing. her talent is definitely up their with martina and leann, i dont think taylor could sing a song with this kind of range,or is even put in the leagues of martina or leann or trisha or anyone with a range, so it doesnt matter what taylor fans say or how many times they put carrie down because they know whos the better vocalist, they just wont admit the truth because the truth hurts, its like saying britney spears can sing better then christina aguilera..thats obviously nonsense and that is not true. taylor fans know and the world knows the whos the a “real singer” they just want to complain about something they can not change..carrie can really sing, if you heard taylor and carrie sing acapella it would be obvious who needs the music to drown the noise out. theres no sense of comparing mediocre to wonderful..it just doesnt balance out and it wouldnt be fair to taylor considering carrie is in a higher league then she is.

Checked it out (tried)…I made it about half way through. *Click off*. Sorry, but I hear nothing that different from her Pop Country singles. If her handlers released it to Pop Country radio, it would go to #1 like it’s supposed to. Personally I’m not into Kiddie Music, and this girl control screams too much for me, like McBride.

i absolutely adore carrie she is sooo incredible i cant believe a big voice like that comes out of her tiny little body. i’ve had the pleasure to see and meet her and she is soo beautifull and her personality makes her even more that beautiful she is so likeable and adorable she is a genuinly down to earth girl she was interacting with all the fans and her southern accent is the cutest she was joking and laughing with all that met her she is a good girl. dont believe anyone that says carrie is snobby because everytime i’v met her she comes off like the girl next door you can make a best friend with, thats how she treats you. her vocals are out of this world she will impress you when you see her “live”…i love her forever, they dont all come like carrie in the celebrity world, its hard to find great people who are role models shes sweet down to earth polite and respectful and she has a good head on her shoulders she has great values and morals, her mama did a fine job raising miss carrie. :)
