Nobody Doesn't Like Sheryl Crow

Posted: June 24th, 2009 at 1:53 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Sheryl CrowCountry fans. Rock fans. And even baseball fans. Sheryl Crow just has a likeability factor that makes her (and her music) appeal to everyone. So it makes sense that she was the one chosen to headline a July 11 concert in St. Louis during all-star game weekend. And to add to the charm, it's free. Major League Baseball is joining forces with President Obama to encourage everyone to volunteer in their hometowns this summer. And this concert is just one way they are getting the word out about this United We Serve initiative. According to the White House blog (yes, the government has bloggers, too), the First Lady says we all need to "make service a daily part of their lives ... it's not something that you do in your spare time." So go hear some good music and do something for the good of your community. And in the meantime, if you like Crow so much you want to dress like her, check out her new Bootheel line of vests, jeans and T-shirts.

Who cares what the first lady says. I can’t stand her or her stupid husband obama(odumba). He’s going to get us all killed.

I can’t help but think that you all have missed the point on this one. A free concert!!!! FREE Sheryl Crow!!! Someone giving of their time to help others(who might otherwise, never see a concert) She and our President should be commended for bringing some positive energy back to this scared, cinacle country.

It’s a free concert that I would not attend. She tries to be neutral (Country/pop)until the topic becomes political.

When did this blog begin to only center around politcs. It’s about country music(all forms.)

I for one would like to say that Sheryl Crow has had some great songs(especially from the 90’s), and despite her music being in the more pop/rock genre, she has always had a certian country twang to her music. I’m glad more and more artists are doing these free concerts every once in a while :D

This blog wasn’t about the Obamas and how the President is doing, it was about Sheryl Crow. Sis, you made some pretty mean comments. I mean really, what’s your problem?

Love Ms. Crow, and i love her tribute to Carter Family, “No Depression”. Very respectful. Plus, she plays piano, organ, guitar, accordion and autoharp! I think it’s cool! Johnny Cash worked with her in a couple of occasions, and he was really impressed by her dedication and professionalism. Many years ago, after a discussion about an old political song by Sheryl, he said to her: “Well, I thought there wasn’t anyone worked as hard as me and June, but I think I was wrong. I’ll send you what I did with your song. I hope you like it”. That song was “Redemption Day”, from her second album.

I like Sheryl Crow and I would like to seeher in concert even though I disagree with her politically. But as far as
the president and his wife I disagree with everthing they stand for: Abortion, cap and trade, universal health care,
higher taxes. They are ruining our country. Thei values have nothing to do with country music.

I have respect for Crow. Not only is she a wonderful musician, she truly respects the heritage, history, and traditions of music(including Country). She seems to be one of these artists who have easily made the transition from the Pop world to the Roots scene, where the music comes first.
