Top 10 Tracks I'm Digging Right Now
In the midst of some last-minute vacation planning for various places I wish my family could go this summer, I keep getting hung up on songs about places. Faraway places, down-the-street places, beaches, dude ranches, lakes jam-packed with boat houses. Some are places we're considering, and others are just ones we dream about. With the kids out of school and already crying "bored," the world is my oyster, so to speak. So, close your eyes and go with me to:
"Ireland," Garth Brooks
"She's So California," Gary Allan
"Laredo," Chris Cagle
"That's Why God Made Mexico," Tim McGraw
"Old Blue Chair," Kenny Chesney
"Never Been to Spain," Waylon Jennings
"All Summer Long," Kid Rock
"There Is No Arizona," Jamie O'Neal
"I Can Still Make Cheyenne," George Strait
"Kentucky Rain," Eddie Rabbitt

“Never Been To Spain” is an old tune written by Hoyt Axton. The Pop/Rock group Three Dog Night had a big hit with it. Axton also wrote the tune “Joy To The Word” (aka Jeremiah was a Bullfrog), also recorded by TDN. Hoyt had a few Country hits of his own too. “When The Morning Comes” and “Della and The Dealer”. Hoyt Axton was also an actor.
