Kenny Chesney Plans Hard Rock Show in New York
Maybe he's not technically a "rock star" rock star. The kind with long hair and a drug habit. But when a country star becomes an Ambassador of Rock, based on the Hard Rock Cafe's definition, that says a lot. So now that Kenny Chesney has announced that he'll play New York's Hard Rock on Sept. 15, it's pretty obvious that he's progressed in America's eyes from East Tennessee country boy to iconic arena rocker. Some of the other acts performing at various locations during the tour are Bruce Springsteen, Nine Inch Nails, Neil Young and the Killers. I'm sure he's honored to be included in that group of musicians. But personally? I'd rather see Chesney than all those other bands combined.

Wish I could be there. Unfortunately I’m on the other side of the United States.

Janetgijoenurse says:
I wouldn’t see this overrated wannabe Jimmy Buffet no matter who he played with or where.
star wars says:
Your loss Janet he is awsome in concert.

Seems like Keith Urban would have been a better choice. I don’t think of Rock when I think of Kenny Chesney…I think more beach music.
Janetgijoenurse says:
That is a matter of opinion. Last concert I saw of this overrated piece of hot air was in 2003 and last album I bought was No Shoes No Shirt No Problem.
He has issues and reading his interview on the way he thinks of women(what did he say over a hundred by 2001. He is a low life.
Janetgijoenurse says:
Defintely don’t think of rock, think of Jimmy Buffet. See his albums sales are pitful, compared to how big he is. Lucky Sun only sold 700,000 so far. His new GH has only sold 200,000 so far.
Hard to believe his BIGGEST selling album of his career is Don’t Let The Sun Go Down at 4,111,000.
You would think with his big tours and all them #1’s he would have least had one album sell 5 million.
I still say without them big multiplatinum artists as his opening acts his numbers for touring would not be nowhere what they are.
What did he say once, a artist has to be hot on radio and selling albums to go on tour with me. No no name artists for him as an opening act.

It seems to me, Janetgijoenurse, that you are working hard to make Kenny look & sound really bad..hmmmm..wonder why? why bother to learn all the facts & figures about him..Lighten up..if you dislike him that much don’t go see him or listen to his music..don’t make nasty comments about him..maybe you should look in your own backyard & figure out all this anger..cheer up! There is other music out there..
Redmaz says:
Out of the lineup mentioned in this blog, I would have to go with Neil Young. He’s a true music legend. Did you know he owns one of Hank Williams’ Martin Guitar? i think it’s a D-28(not sure though. might be an 18) On his Heart of Gold dvd at the Ryman Auditorium…he plays it. Clinton Gregory is playing fiddle with him on that show. Gregory had a couple of Pop/Country hits back in the 90’s.
TINKERBELLE says:
Janet is a TIM MCGRAW LOVER…That’s why she is so bitter. Tim has done nothing to write home about in over 2 years.

Like him or not, I was watching the Insider last night and they said that Kenny was ranked #5 on the Forbes list bringing in 65 million last year, so he must be doing something right.
LC says:
I think his tractor’s sexy :)
