I Think Shania Twain's Songs May Already Be Written

Posted: June 17th, 2009 at 4:12 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Shania TwainArtists are artists. And if they aren't expressing themselves in song, they have to find other ways to do so. Earlier this week, Shania Twain chose to pour her heart out in a public letter to her fans. Its message? She's using the pain of her marital troubles to write songs and is taking good care of her son. So her next album will be out sometime sort of soon. But like I said, she's an artist. So this isn't just some "music's coming soon" blog post. It is over 1,000 words long, very heartfelt and has about 10 potential songs buried in it. Go read it and see if you see the song titles I see, like: "Music Has a Mind," "Side-Tracked Slightly," "Emotion Finds Its Way Out," "I Only Cry When I'm Alone," "I Don't Hold Back" and one that could make for a very sexy comeback hit: "The Odd All-Nighter."

I thought her letter to us was really sweet and showed a side of her I had never seen before as a fan. I think it showed her fragile side and that she is just a real person like the rest of us. A lot of us have been waiting for a new Shania album for a long time and I know it will be worth the wait!

Can’t wait for Shania’s new music to come out! She’s been gone far too long! It’s time to have a “REAL” country music superstar on the stage again…

Are you serious, goldie? That would be like asking Barbra Streisand to sing with Miley Cyrus! LMAO!!

I agree Mike in TX, Shania is not that stupid to sing with a not talented, big baby like Taylor.

It still cracks me up how people on this blog bash Taylor every chance they get in favor of another artist. Let’s not forget that Shania got this same type of treatment back in the 90’s.

Shania needs to stay in Switzerland. She’s one of the main reasons mainstream country music is all about looks and zero talent nowadays!

Difference is, Jake, Shania has/had talent.

Alot of what made Shania’s music great was ‘Mutt’. Shania was never a power-house voice…she was a pretty young woman with a pleasant (but average) voice who marketed her sex appeal in her videos. It will be interesting to see what a 40+ Shania minus ‘Mutt’ does should she come back.

Judging by her last Country awards show appearance, she’s still peddling the sex card.

I am looking forward to new material from Shania. I think she will do just fine without Mutt.

I really do hope Shania gets through this difficult time in her life. She is respected and loved by so many around the world. For all of you people who think she has no talent and is all looks you need your head examined.
SHANIA TWAIN has a voice of an angel. It wasnt her looks that got her this far its her talent.

My message to Shania (and others) is simply this…..

Fight the good fight. Stay focused and surround yourself with loving family members at this difficult time. (ie your sisters and your son). Your emotions will no doubt run the gamut. I would like to emphasize that your true fans and friends will be patient in regards to new material. (My own opinion in regard to release date of new songs, album etc.; don’t rush any release of any song and or album, until you feel that it meets your standard of excellence.) I would say that you should know that it was your song ideas, lyrical and melody smarts, that endowed you to the fans all over the world. (production and or producer wise I wouldn’t sweat the small stuff; whoever you choose let it be from the heart; you will do no wrong. If I would suggest one person in mind though…Dan Huff would be my choice.”)

I would say take a pointer or two from Mrs. Dolly Pardon; marry a good person, an average Joe (or in Shania’s case an average Fred) who doesn’t care one lick about how many tracks have to be overlaid or what riff should come after this verse in a particular song etc., etc. He will love you for you and nothing more or less. After all making records and writing songs; There is more important things; like being the best mom you can be and finding the most honorable guy that your son can truly call a “REAL DAD” like your father, Jerry Twain was. That is what truly matters. No son is ever going to remember what song or what album sold more than another. He will remember that 7:00 pm bedtime story; or those many meals with mom and dad etc. The times you and he simply watch his favorite “Disney Pixar” movie and eat popcorn That is what a life lived is really about. Nothing else really means or is of any true or real significance. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Give yourself time to smell the flowers. Who knows what your life and the simple pleasures of a family can and will be. You might just realize that the best is yet to come. So “cheer up Shania” the sun is and will rise and set again. There is truly a brighter tomorrow. (and you have to look on the bright side; It could always be worse. You could be back in Timmons, Ontario, Canada working 3 jobs and no money, and a divorced mother with no child support. Now that’s what I call a reality check.)

    Enough said. The Lone Wolf.
