Bring It On Brady, Gretchen and Gary

Gretchen WilsonOne of the bad things about loving country music for any length of time is that some of the artists you love take time off -- often just when you were starting to dig them. But just when you thought you were so ready to move on, they come back.

Such is the case with Brady Seals, Gretchen Wilson and Gary Allan. Three of my favorites, they're all ready to dole out new music this summer.

If you think you don't know Brady Seals, let me refresh your memory: He was a member of Little Texas during their heyday of the '90s before embarking on a solo career and then returning with Hot Apple Pie -- the band, not the dessert -- in 2005 with a moderate hit, "Hillbillies." Now he's gone solo again, and I'm sure whatever music he's made will be just as fantastic. Although it makes me a little nervous when he says, "There's no question of this being a really adult record. It gets raunchy and raw."

Then Gretchen Wilson just released "If I Could Do It All Again," a song that, according to the press materials, "invites us all to spend more time embracing the often overlooked pleasures of life" and "tugs at the heartstrings of any person who has wished they could change their past." So, unless you've had a life of 100-percent perfection, this song is for you.

And Gary Allan is at it again, too, after a way-too-long break since releasing his last album in 2007. His new single, "Today," will probably be every bit as smoky, sexy and unruly as his previous hardcore country tunes. Cannot wait to hear it.

Now if I could just get Sara Evans, Terri Clark, Travis Tritt and Garth Brooks to release brand new singles, I'd be all set.

So, RedMaz…I take it you don’t have anything constructive to do?

Listening to and educating myself about music is very constructive.

I thought Gretchen was noticably absent from the CMT awards. I mean it seems like you’re out, over the hill, old news after 2 years anymore. Atleast she could’ve replaced one of those thugs that they are starting to introduce to the COUNTRY MUSIC stage.
