New Music Videos From Bomshel and Mark McKinney

Two new music videos hit the screening room for the CMT New Video Evaluation Team this week to take their lumps.

Artist: Bomshel
Video: "Fight Like a Girl"
Director: Eric Welch

Bomshel are a young duo made up of Kelley Shepard and Kristy Osmonson (better known as Kristy O). In this performance video, they sing a winsome inspirational message song.

Panelists' comments: "Good imaging." "The video does look good." "I really like that!" "I like the treatment. That's very uplifting." "Kristy interned here."

Video: "Middle America"
Director: Rob Dennis

Texas music scene veteran Mark McKinney returns with a low-key, feel-good video all about the joys of working-class life in America. Here, he climbs into his black Trans-Am T-top and cruises the back roads, latching onto girls and friends along the way.

Panelists' comments: "He's a Texas artist." "I like the song." "And I like the video." "Very laid-back but nice."

Consensus: Bomshel's "Fight Like a Girl" will be added to CMT in medium rotation on Monday (May 25) and to CMT Pure Country in heavy rotation. Mark McKinney's "Middle America" will be added to CMT Pure Country in heavy rotation.

I work for Equiblues rodeo & music festival in france. We had Mark McKinney last year for a gig. It was one of teh best show i’ve never seen. Mark is a great guy, cool, with a lot of talent. The show was powerful, don’t hesitate, go to see Mark in concert. Mark is one of the best entertainer of country music. Let’s go Mark

I go to nearly all of Mark’s shows & let me tell ya: Mark McKinney is the hottest new thing out of the Texas Music Scene & I’ve been trying to post a comment to his video, but cmt.com won’t recognize me as logged in on the page. If you can leave a comment, will ya? He is a funny, sweet, smart & entertaining man. I’m so glad he’s made it this far! I think the video is fantastic and I think you’ll love it too!

I loved that mark McKinney vid. very catchy song, really fits with what is going on in our country right now. Cool cars!! I wanna go see him play, the Bombshel vid was ok too.

Love the Bomshel song and video. Sends such an insperational message!!I have been to several of their shows and they NEVER disapoint!!So much talent and energy.They deserve all the good things that are coming their way.

Just what you need…another duo that sounds like The Sugarland Band(without the “fame”). This falls into the Make it stop category. So I did.

The second video…now, I listen to, and am a fan of a lot of Texas music, but none of it sounds like this drivel. Think he can get a few more cliches’ in the next time? Another Atkins(without the “fame”).

I’m always willing to listen, but this is just two more reasons why I don’t like this type of music. What’s it called again……..? You never know until you check it out.

I am liking the Bomshel song alot. I have been a fan of Kristy and Kelley for a long time now and they are very good. See them live and hear the story behind the song and it will bring you to tears. The video itself is nothing special, but Bomshel needs to be experienced live.

Im going to see Mark tonight in San Antonio. His concerts are one of the best I have ever been to which is why I go see him any time he is near here. County Line tonight!!! Im really loving this new song too!
