Is Jennifer Love Hewitt Ready to Be Criticized, Country Style?
Well, if it's true that actress Jennifer Love Hewitt is about to embark on a country music career, she's already ready for one thing: the intense media scrutiny that comes with a detour like that. Just ask Jessica Simpson. Hewitt's had to put up with a lot of crap in her career. There were her infamous 2007 bikini pictures, her ongoing defense of her size-two body and her eventual breakup with her fiancé. That has all undoubtedly thickened her skin and, possibly, even given this charming little Texan some fodder for the country songs she's reportedly writing. Back in 1998, according to USA Weekend, Hewitt was already a pop singing sensation. In Japan. But it was her role as a presenter at the recent ACM Awards that was a big ol' hint that she was trying to get on Nashville's good side.

Jennifer Love Hewitt has a genuine likeability factor for me. I WAS CLUELESS SHE SINGS OR SANG OR WHATEVER. I would be one to give her a listen. However I am also one that if I don’t care for her sound, will also say.

In response to Amy….Do some of these country stars just wake up one day and decide they are bored with their singing career and decide I’m going to be a movie star - because after all if a bunch of Hollywood bimbos can do it - I can?…it has worked both ways, you know. Actors try their hand at singing (not just country, but other genres also) and some singers try acting. There’s nothing wrong with it. Open up your mind.

I have 4 of Jennifer Love Hewitt’s CD’s that she has put out and the difference between Jessica and Jennifer is that Jennifer can actually sing. You can find two of her videos on Itunes called Barenaked and Can I go now. She also sung on the soundtrack to I still know what you did last summer with What do I have to do and I believe that some of her Cd’s are availab;e on Itunes. I think depending on her songs she could be very sucessful.

Jennifer cannot actually sing. Maybe a little bit, but not enough to make me want to listen to her. If she would have truly loved country music and wanted to be a part of it she would have done that in the first place instead of making a pop-whatever album. That’s what makes me mad, if you havn’t truly loved country music from the start, and made it your priority instead of acting or singing a different genre, it’s going to show, and I’m not going to like your album. I liked Hootie better when he was still with the Blowfish, I liked Jessica better when she was on Newlyweds, I liked Jewel better when she was writing music that you could tell she really believed in, and I bet I’ll rather be watching I Know What You Did Last Summer than listening to Jennifer sing country.

Something here that is being overlooked… Is she going to sing Roots Country or Pop country? If it’s Pop Country, it’s really not all that much of a stretch from before.
Actor/Comedian Steve Martin just released a Bluegrass album. It’s doing very well on the Roots Bluegrass charts. He is being accepted and taken seriously for expanding his range of endeavors, instead of being ridiculed for it.
Open your minds and accept Pop music for what it is, whether it be Country or whatever. Mainstreamers should embrace the artists who sing music in the mode you claim you love so much, instead of finding fault even before anything is released.

She is the cousin of PATSY CLINE, Hewitt is from Texas, so there are some chances. Have you ever heard of her song STRONGER from BareNaked (2002). There’s a hint right there of good music.

I’ve heard Jennifer sing before on her past albums. It’s nothing special. And going from what she was singing before to pop country, which i’m sure is what she will be doing, is enough of a stretch for me. I like pop country, but I don’t like the type of music Hewitt made on her past CDs, so there must be a difference.

I had two of her early CD’s years ago and the girl can sing. She is soooo much better than Jessica Simpson. I would love to hear her attempt at country music tho radio is really unfair to females
