Taylor Swift's Gift for Mothers Everywhere
There's no doubt that moms make the world go 'round, so make sure to do something extra nice for yours on Mother's Day on May 10. Taylor Swift has already finished her gift to mom, and it sets the bar pretty high for the rest of us. She wrote "The Best Day" and then made her own music video as a surprise Christmas present a few years ago. The song's message is sure to have moms everywhere crying those happy tears. It might choke up a few dads, too. Check out the heartwarming footage of Taylor and family in her latest video.

barb b says:
taylor was not a beautiful
child and has not changed
the hair got to go
Tina says:
Taylor has the best mom! It’s so nice that she takes time to make sure her mother knows it. A lot of teens today hardly have a nice thing to say about their mom, but Taylor can’t say enough wonderful things about her mom.
Another beautiful song from a talented person.
Thanks for sharing Taylor!
T J says:
barb b - not a beautiful child? did you even watch the video?
Taylor Swift has an inner beauty few match to coincide with her outer beauty. It is the reason Taylor has graced over 25 magazine covers to date.
lokomotor says:
With a grounded personality like that and her talent, Taylor is going to go far, yes even further than what she has already achieved.
trink says:
I loved this song on the cd it’s one of my favorites. Now Taylor has made a video of it for her Mom what a plus.I love it and she was a beauty as a child and now as a woman.I can’t believe someone could come on here and start crap when this is for her mom what a idiot you are Barb. Some of you people have no class at all.

A CMT quick count (meaning counted quickly and in the ballpark) of blogs for April of 2009 is around 132 total. A quick count of blogs by Alison Bonaquro for the month of April is about 88. Of those 88 blogs directly related to Taylor Swift or which have a related story with Taylor Swift’s name or photograph prominently featured or within the body of the story by Alison are 10. (Does not include TAG mentions at all - they are numerous.)
In addition in April we had one Taylor Swift blog feature by Annemarie Blanco and we had one Taylor Swift blog feature by a fan who got a CMT Music Pass. AND I didn’t count in the one about Kellie Pickler and her shared song with Taylor..”Best Days Of Your Life”.
Total Taylor Swift blogs for April 2009 - 12 which averages about THREE PER WEEK.
Now Taylor is beautiful, young, high energy performer, established fan base that BUYS all her stuff, selling well….and her music may not be my music….but is the Taylor Swift ‘train’ all there is to blog about around here? Just asking!
And I only mentioned her name NINE times in this one post! Wow!
Melissa says:
Who cares Kaye? Did you notice this blog wasn’t even written by Alison?
This is am amazing thing Taylor did for her mom, and I know moms across the country are going to love this. I’m not a mom, but I think it’s great.
solongsowrong says:
Anyway Kaye. Don’t you understand what a lot of fans of American Pop culture want? It doesn’t even have to be about the music most of the time. Accept it for what it is… and one of these days the newest latest and greatest will come along to soak up all the attention. That’s how it works.
goldie says:
LOVE IT WHAT A GREAT MOTHER’S DAY GIFT FOR TAYLOR’S MOM!!! IT SEEMS LIKE THEY HAVE A GREAT RELATIONSHIP, MORE TEENS SHOULD HAVE THAT WITH THEIR PARENTS!!1 WAY TO GO TAYLOR!!
swiftlygone says:
she sure knows how to market herself….she knows she is perceived as a kid, and Mothers Day is next week. It was a brilliant marketing strategy…ala Taylor Swift.
trink says:
Gee to bad you feel that way swiftly.I as a Mother thought it was a beautiful gift for her MOM they obviously are very close and after all it is Mothers day,Her new video will be out soon and I caught it on youtube I think its the one of her best so far can’t wait to see what you negative people have to say about it.Stay tuned.
Guess! says:
PUBLICITY STUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;] says:
I don’t think it’s a publicity stunt. She actually made this a while back and gave it as a christmas present. But unveiling the video for this song around mother’s day was brilliant.
I think that it’s very kind of Taylor to give that to her mom. It’s very cute as well.
swiftlygone says:
Yes Guess, it is. Everything about Taylor is for publicity.
Cory says:
Taylor is my role model :-) She’s just beyond amazing!
T J says:
Publicity is good for any celeb..
trink says:
Guess get your facts right before you come on her making up lies because all of Taylors fans know her so forget it.your wasting your time.
swiftlygone says:
I don’t see any untrue facts. That’s fine that you like her. Looks like her marketing genius works well…got you didn’t it?
Guess! says:
I THINK SHE “GOT” ALOT OF PEOPLE!!
Samigurl012294 says:
I love Taylor Swift. Must famous people are snobby and are brats. Taylor is a nice girl who cares about her family. Also Taylor can wear nice clothes but she doesnt spend that much money to buy a fancy dress, like Carrie Underwood did at the CMA award show. But Taylor’s parents showed her not to by greedy and waste your money. Taylor has a great voice and her mom should be really happy that she made a song out of it and made a movie. Many of these famous people will tell them mom “happy mothers day” but Taylor showed it in a song which would make her mom her so greatfull that she has a daughter like that.
Joan K says:
Carrie does have a stronger voice than Taylor, but she doesn’t have the ability to light up the stage that Taylor does. I saw Carrie in concert last year - she sings, she smiles and that’s that. Wish Carrie had a little of the warmth/fun that Taylor exudes! I’ve been around entertainment for a long time - some have that famous charisma and some just don’t. Looking forward to seeing Taylor and KU in concert this summer - WOW.
trink says:
To bad I loved her before she was a star Swiftly so again you are wrong.
Kate says:

I couldn’t disagree with you more.
Carrie’s charisma and charm are understated and that’s what makes her even more charming and attractive..and is what probably contributed and contributes to her ‘winning’ way.
I know for a fact that Carrie does more than just sing and smile but in any case,Carrie’s concerts for the most part are built around her fabulous voice.. that is what is ’showcased’. Her audience is multfaceted and her sold out tour is evidence that concert goers liked what she had to offer.
…from the reviews I have seen Taylor’s audience is largely made up of 4-14 yr.olds(this does not exclude people who are older, the key word is ‘largely’) so it makes sense that her shows are geared towards this group, and so you have alot of activity, and stage props to hold their attention …keep it fun, keep it moving…With all that going on I doubt that they much care about her singing.
lovetimesthree says:
Just wondering how this goes from a simple discussion about a truly beautiful & heartfelt song/video tribute Taylor made for her mother… (A song that will undoubtedly hold very special significance for mothers & their daughters everywhere…)
…And then we immediately digress to these same, stupid cheap shots about ‘publicity stunts’ & more (unnecessary) comparisons with Carrie? Just makes no sense to me. At all.
So perhaps the better question here is WHY?
…’Cause sometimes it really seems like the more talented someone is, the harder they work to share their gifts with the world, and the more success they attain, the more some people will always try to knock them down???
Honestly, do we (still) feel the need to do that?
And can we please stop now.
:)

I THINK TAYLOR’S CONCERT’S ARE MADE UP OF MORE THAN JUST TEENS, MY 30 SOMTHING COUSIN AND SOME 30 YEAR OLD AND YES 20 YEAR OLD PEOPLE WRE AT TAYLOR’S CONCERT AND THEY LOVED HER. SO I THINK YOU ARE JUST JEALOUS OF TAYLOR’S SUCCESS OR YOUR FAVORITE ARTIST IS NOT GETTING ANY ATTENTION!! LOVE TAYLOR CAN’T WAIT TO SEE HER AGAIN!!
sleepyfellow says:
I certainly hope that the artists that are supported by all the people that flock to news blogs and discussions about Taylor Swift are nothing like their “supporters”. If they are and I knew who those artists were, I would feel very little inclination to admire anyone who has the Nazi-like tendancy to attempt to stamp out and destroy all joy and creativity that these folks seem determined to do to anything that Taylor creates, sings, says and lives. It’s quite scary and very disturbing. I don’t see the fans of Taylor going to roots country blogs and trying to destroy joy or tear down the works of any of the artists that some of the writers that visit these blogs love, nor do I ever see them going to Carrie blogs to try to tear Carrie down. I myself enjoy Carrie’s music, but the more hateful of her fans who feel the need to comment at every opportunity their perception of Taylor’s vocal abilities makes me not want to associate myself with the designation “Carrie fan”. To me they are all the same, Jonas fanatics, Carrie Fanatics and roots music fanatics that attack Taylor, their only joy is in trying to tear down the joy of the admirer’s of Taylor’s music and person and of Taylor herself. God bless em all, I feel sorry for them when and if they ever develop a conscience or become aware of that aspect of the their nature and how ugly and petty it is. Matt Christian

DON’T GET UPSET…JUST GO RE-READ THE POST CAREFULLY.. YOU WILL SEE THAT THE PERSON DOES SAY THAT THERE WERE OLDER PEOPLE THERE TOO.

You can relax. The thoughts expressed on these boards are from a few people, often repeat posters and the comments are insignificant in the grand scheme of things and in no-way represent the majority.

when I first heard it on the CD I cried, then when I first saw the music video I cried again. I’m not even those kind of girls that cry over things like that, though I get the feeling, but this song had tears coming out of me. I love it! My mom is my best friend, I really don’t have that many because people in my school, I just don’t get along with them. I only have afew friends. And my mom has been there with me through everything, because this year has been EXREMELY though ’cause I just lost one of my best friends. This song really shows the appreciation that we should give to moms everywhere. My mom and I always give advice to eachother when shopping and always make the randomnest inside jokes, so she always has me laughing. I love my mom and I love “The Best Day” by Taylor Swift. Thanks Taylor!
