Jake Owen's Eight Second Ride With Britney Spears
Actually, it was more like two minutes. And it wasn't so much of a "ride" as much as it was a spectator sport. But when Britney Spears hit the stage at Chicago's Allstate Arena on Tuesday night (April 28), Jake Owen was right there with her. While she sang "Breathe on Me," he remained seated on some kind of a leather chaise. (And maybe blindfolded and handcuffed. It's kind of hard to tell with all the folks she had milling about onstage.) While Britney, um, dances for him. I have no idea how our beloved country boy ended up on her big showy Circus tour. But it looks like it was a lot of fun. For Britney, anyway. Owen just has kind of an aw-shucks-but-yee-haw look on his face.

The only noun definition that I can find of maroon is “a person who is stranded (on an island)” - so I guess bugs bunny needs to check his usage as well!

I dig Jake’s music and he has talent, but maybe he needs to work on appearances like this one. Just say no!

“Maroon” is 1920’s Brooklyn slang for a person marked for a con… or a gullible person. It is a mispronunciation of the word moron. Since Bugs Bunny was “born” in 1940 in Brooklyn, New York, it would make sense that he would use that word.
Why Twangtown would use it, I have no idea, but the fact remains, it was the correct usage in this situation, for the point they was trying to make.

First off, none of us know Britney OR Jake Owens. Just because she is sexual on stage, none of us know her as a person. We shouldn’t judge someone based off what the media says. Their job is to bash people. Even if she has made lots of mistakes, everyone does, hers were just in the spotlight for everyone to see, maybe she’s learned from them. Also who cares if Jake Owen went on stage with her? She’s fun and he wanted to have fun, why does everyone make things so serious?
