Take Our Daughters to Work Day Blog
Blogger's Note: Today is the official Take Our Daughters to Work Day. Last year, I took my oldest daughter to work with me. So this year, in the interest of equal time, it's now my youngest daughter's turn to blog.

Hi. I'm Jesse. I'm 10. When it comes to country, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, the Dixie Chicks and Rascal Flatts are my favorites.
I love listening to Taylor Swift. She is amazing at writing and singing songs. I just figured out how to play "Love Story" on my fiddle. I learn a lot of country songs on my fiddle. One of the first one I did was "Cowboy Take Me Away" by the Dixie Chicks. Sometimes, if the song is really fast, I use something called the Amazing Slow Downer on my computer. It slows down the song so you can hear all the notes really clearly. I figured out how to play two Garth Brooks songs that way: "Callin' Baton Rouge" and "The Beaches of Cheyenne." I love the fiddle in all of Garth Brooks' songs and think that Jimmy Mattingly is the best! (Even though I mostly play Celtic music, I still like playing country songs. Fiddle is so much fun. Me and my fiddle have been to lots of places for competitions, and last summer, I was picked to go to Ireland for a world competition. Even though it feels awkward sometimes playing with people in a group, I had lots of fun. I have another competition in May, so wish me luck!)
Some country songs that I don't like as much are Kenny Chesney's new ones. His older music used to be good, like "Big Star" and "Don't Happen Twice," but I don't like the ones about Mexico and chairs. To me, he doesn't necessarily scream out country anymore.
I really like that my mom gets to write about country music. She has an awesome job. Who wouldn't want to listen to music, talk about it, write about it, go to concerts and get paid for it? I love to write, too, like my mom. Take Your Daughter to Work Day was really fun.
