The Lost Trailers Are a Lean, Clean Touring Machine
It's one thing to package your CDs in recycled cardboard and maybe set aside a batch of tickets for financially-challenged fans. It's quite another to commit to a tour that's all about giving back to the community. That's what the Lost Trailers are up to these days, even going so far as naming their roadwork the Lean, Clean and Local tour. They're leaving their usual tour staff at home and opting for local crews at each stop instead. So if you're a stagehand, lighting director, merchandise seller or audio technician, you could be in luck. They're also leaving the buses at home and flying commercially so they can cut their fuel consumption, pollution and carbon emissions. And that ain't all. The Keep America Beautiful folks will come to the LT shows to do the right thing with all those empties at the end of the night. It's like the message in their song, "Gravy," about growing marijuana to save the family farm: When times are tough, you do what you have to do.

They could work with the Missionaries of Charity in the streets of Calcutta for five years, I lost all respect for these idiots when they recorded “Holler Back.”

I think they are great. I got there CD when it came out and really liked all the tracks on it. If everyone did one thing to help the environment it would add up to so much in helping out the world we have so dirtied up. I say way to go to the Lost Trailers for doing what they can!

Yeah, that’s all good…except for one problem…THEY SUCK!!! They were like hearing the garage band in high school. Of course they do fit in with the current Nashville crap being put out on radio and the road.

I agree with CM in that I am tired of the same ol crud from Nashville. Maybe someone can tell me what my horoscope is for today. For some reason I woke up with a real disdain for the country music genre, long my favorite. Here is the “book I posted on a story involving Toby Keith. I am dying to find out if others are thinking like I am or, am I just being a bitch today. ;-)
I have long been a fan of country music, and while reading this article it hit me. Who Cares? I mean do we really care if people we helped to make wealthy have had their feelings hurt? What Ethan did was wrong, but again, who cares what Ethan Hawke says? Why would RS even ask his opinion on anything? RS, like country music, is losing their relevancy for me and by recent publicity pushes it seems like I am not alone. Country Music on Oprah? If this does not scream “Country music is losing its audience” then what does. Oh wait, I know, how about the fact that country radio is not even the number 1 format in country music’s backyard of Nashville. Just look at the ratings on All Access. Like many of you who might read this, I rarely comment on anything that deals with entertainment, but for some reason I had to say something. Recently, a friend of mine took me to see a new country band that I had never heard of. I thought, “cool, I will go and have a few drinks, dance a little” you know the usual. When we arrived, the parking lot was packed and the energy was unlike anything I had felt at this particular club. If I were to guess, and I am bad at guessing numbers, I would say that there were at least 1000 people packed in the place. I will not give the name of the band or website, but I will tell you that they had maybe 6 songs where the fans knew every word until their last song called “Devil Plays for Keeps.” From the first note the place went absolutely ballistic. The song is about the economy and seems to have been passed on from one person to another. The video to the song is very good bordering on genius in my book. If country music is going by way of the aforementioned song or act then count me in. If all I am ever going to hear again is the same ol sound that I have been hearing for the past 10 years then I am out. Taylor Swift has endless talent, but the powers that be will ruin her artistic integrity by shoving her through the same mold as all the others. Also, what is with Miley Cyrus? Please people, I dare you to watch one live performance of this woman and show me where she is on key for longer than 16 bars. So again, who cares who’s feelings are hurt between wealthy entertainers. The quality of our entertainers are mediocre at best, and by ignoring really talented artists or bands that in many cases outdraw and out sell their Nash-Villan counterparts, country music will always be a second rate genre. Just ask Nashville’s WSIX the number 1 country station in Nashville, but who today is number 6 in the Nashville market overall. Way to go guys. You lost your one stronghold, alienated Austin, Texas and ignored the Americana genre all together. Looks like John Rich will be singing about Nashville next. And how contrived is that beauty he put out?
Wow, look at this book. Who knew I had it in me. Good thing my boss is still on Easter Vacation. I could go on with how contrived my genre of choice is after watching a band that really pulls at people on a grass roots effort, but I will spare all of you. If you read this, your boss must be on vacation as well.
