Kellie Pickler's Best Day on American Idol
In what other universe could Frankie Avalon, Flo Rida, Kellie Pickler and eight pop star wannabes share the same stage? Only on American Idol. Avalon started Wednesday night's (April 8) show with his 1959 hit, "Venus." Flo Rida did "Right Round," his hip-hop remix of the '80s new wave tune from Dead or Alive, "You Spin Me Round." And then it was time for Pickler. Totally worth the wait. Host Ryan Seacrest introduced the season five Idol alum turned country sensation by saying, "To us, she will always be the roller-skating waitress from Albemarle, N.C." She did her latest, "Best Days of Your Life," that she wrote with Taylor Swift. And what I love about it is how the title sets you up for a song about looking back on good times, yet it is actually a very strong message to a recent ex. That message being, "Your loss, buddy." In a lacy champagne cocktail dress and longer, straighter hair, Pickler did an excellent job singling out the male judges when she sang, "It's just too bad, you've already had the best days of your life with me."

This is a great song. Taylor and Kellie look beautiful in the video. Im just curios why CMT cant play 5hrs of videos without running any twice or more. Seems like everyday there are atleast 4 songs that are played 2 to 3 times in only 5 hrs. I know you have more videos than that in your archive. Stop wasting our time with the same videos over and over on the same show.

I’m a big fan of Kellie Pickler. I think she’s has a true country sound….somewhere between Reba and Dolly. I always thought Kellie sounded best when she did remakes such as “Walking After Midnight” and “Stand By Your Man.” Her new album is more country-pop but the songwriting didn’t really disappoint me. Although, I hope her next album is a little more country and hopefully she will do a cover of an old country song that was a hit in the past. She deserves great things and I hope she gets them.
