LeeAnne and Nathan's Redneck Wedding

My Big Redneck Wedding 3 LeeAnne and NathanLeeAnne and Nathan were married on CMT's show My Big Redneck Wedding 3. They share the story of their big day.

On the Monday before the wedding my girlfriends Debbie and Belinda had to help me find my perfect redneck wedding dress so we started our hunt at some fancy country stores and came up empty. So we had no choice but to go where every redneck goes and that would be the great Salvation Army.

Of course they had a better selection than anyone else, so it was hard to pick out just one dress. We ran through the store picking up every thing. Some were good, some bad some really bad, and few that already came with someone else's pit juice (deodorant). After awhile we found the perfect dress, it was big, fluffy, bright colored and it was perfect! Of course my husband Butch had it easy, he already knew what he wanted to wear.

After we found my dress we had to find someone who could make an armadillo cake. That was a challenge. We even tried to make one ourself, that didn't go so well. Finally, we found a wonderful couple in the next town who made it for us. That thing was cool, it stood up on legs and even had a tail. That made our day.

We had to find wild donkeys for the events after the wedding. That was the easiest part of the planning. Around here every one has wild jackasses. A friend agreed to bring them out the day before the wedding.

Next was the decorations for the wedding. The horse poop roses were the easiest. A little poop, a little paint, put it on a stick and it was done. I have to admit they made beautiful roses .We used those as our center pieces and around the edges where people sat for the ceremony. When me, my mother, and Debbie were making the Spirit Tree altar it didn't want to stand real well so we had improvised a little by putting the trees in plant vases and wrapping the cable from the ceiling around it. We had plenty of beer bottles donated from the trail ride the weekend before, plus some old wine and spirits bottles to use.

With the lights strung around the inside of the pavilion, the candles lit and the little buckets of pork rinds set out, we were all set to go. It was a real redneck fairyland.

The day of the wedding was cold and dreary. The sun finally came out in time for the games. All of our friends and family were here to help us have a day to remember.

Nathan (Butch), his mother and his groomsmen came up on the tractor. My bridesmaids and I came up by horse and buggy. The challenge was getting in and out of that thing with out tipping it over or falling out. My daddy helped out and walked me down the aisle, of course being daddy's little girl it was hard for him to put down the shot gun and let me go without harming my soon to be husband. Our pastor was a gem and made sure we knew our vowels, especially the IOU's.

After the ceremony, all the games and the "tossing " of the bouquet and garter, we had a reception of homemade soup, polish sausages, pork rinds and armadillo cake.

We loved having and planning our redneck wedding.
