Kenny Chesney Got a Little Crazy at Nashville Show

Posted: March 10th, 2009 at 2:36 pm  |  By: Annemarie Blanco

Kenny ChesneyMaybe it was the smaller venue or the laid-back setting, but either way, the private Kenny Chesney show last night (March 9) in Nashville might have been one of the most refreshing shows I've ever been to. Kenny, with a special appearance by friend Brad Paisley, played a four-hour concert exclusively for a select few Mastercard holders at a local bar, the Exit In. It might have been the fact that he seemed to get a little tipsy on stage and forget some of his own lyrics, but it was nice to see a different, more personable side to Kenny Chesney.

The crowd, roughly around 200 people, went wild listening to some of Chesney's greatest hits, such as "Got a Little Crazy" and "Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven," along with classic cover songs as he casually took breaks to drink Coronas on stage. Most of the time, concertgoers -- and I have to admit sometimes myself -- tend to get a little restless after about an hour-and-half performance, but not this time. Kenny captivated the crowd for the entire four-hour performance, leaving the room chanting for more when he finally left the stage around 1:30 a.m. He finished off the night with "There Goes My Life" which he hilariously gave up midway through and stumbled off the stage. Overall, the experience was unforgettable and to me, he never sounded more brilliant.

Who cares, the man(?) that brags in Country Weekly that he slept with over 100 women before 2001 and says he has a long line of girls that could testify he likes women.

Heck Kenny if it had been a woman that made them statement people would call her a SLU. or whor.

Get over yourself, why has your latest album has sold only 600,000 and that included the holiday season. Are you losing it?

Janet, I never seen it in Country Weekly. I know it was in Playboy. Kenny was not bragging you must have not read the whole article.
Besides why do you go out of your way to put Kenny down?

He is a very good ENTERTAINER and thats what he is.

Allison you gave a great review of the show I love reading you articles on Kenny!!

Wow, why all the bitterness? It is easy to throw a figure around, but there is no denying the success this man has had. Millions of Albums sold, to many Awards to mention, top selling Concerts not just in Country, but in all genre’s of music. So his album has sold 600,000 copies, I don’t think that’s to shabby a number, and I’m sure Kenny is not losing any sleep over it either. By the way, nothing is selling like it used to. People are not spending on extras right now, and a lot of people go on-line for their music now day’s, me being one of them.
As far as bragging about how many women he has been with, it seems to me that was out of frustration for having to constantly defend himself against ridiculous rumors that he was gay.

In all genres of music? Now That’s a ridiculous statement. Chesney has been nothing more than a Pop industry Country act. He hasn’t been recognized in all genres of music. Far from it.

“In all genres of music? Now That’s a ridiculous statement.” -RedHeadedStepChild

How can an opinion be a ridiculous statement?

    Get a clue, will ya?

I would have to agree, I was there, the show was amazing and he sounded great. I can’t believe how long he played. It was so down to earth, and exciting to see him up close and personal.

Janet, first of all he did not talk about how many women he had been with in Country Weekly, and if you dislike the guy so much why are you even on this site. Maybe you should get over yourself and go be negative somewhere else??? Have you ever seen him in concert? He is a fabulous entertainer and you should be so lucky to be able to see him in concert. I agree with Carol the poor guy is having to defend himself to the crazy people who have nothing better to do with their time!!!

I said nothing about Kenny being recognized in all genres of music. What I meant, and I am sorry if I phrased it wrong, is that his tours are usually one of the top tours ‘compared’ to other artists in all genres of music. So while he is not Rock or R&B or even what you consider ‘True Country’ his tours have been more successful than many of those in Rock, Country, R&B and Pop.
Goodness, now I am confused. ha ha

Hey Janet if you want to through numbers around Kenny might not of sold but 600,000 for his last album (witch was great IMO!) but he sure looked good holding the award for selling 15 million in digital sales more than any male country star.

I have to be honest I don’t like country music…but after I saw kenny at the exit/in in Nashville on monday I have a whole new level of respect for that man. When he broke out with a cover from U2 I almost cried. I still don’t care too much for country music…but I love kenny

Kenny needs to give it up. He’s old news. He looks like a gay turtle.

You must really crawl around with turtles a lot to know their sexual orientation. You may want to consider another hobby. Something not quite as slow. Are you calling him a turtle ’cause he has no hare?

No, he looks like a gay turtle because he is gay.

okay i cannt find the question Do you love Kenny Chesney? anyway here is my opinion. now how do you think those concert going 20 30 year olds half dressed feel about him. Of course they love Kenny. i love things myself. like a new suv for 35000 dollars or a little old ring but i could learn to love him if he changed his ways. like stop putting your foot in your mouth everytime you make a new album. mybe it would be better to get some advice before you make the magazine and paper interviews. Come on Kenny you can do a lot better. by the way the concerts are fantastic.
