A Playlist of New Music You Probably Haven't Heard
I've been fortunate to take a couple of road trips this year, which is the ideal way to listen to new music. I simply fill up my CD carrier and work my way through it. If the song isn't speaking to me, I just skip to the next one. That would probably drive any traveling companion crazy but it works for me. Here are 18 tunes that I've enjoyed over the last few months, from a stack of albums that you may not have heard yet. If you have adventurous ears, I think you might like some of the songs on this playlist too.
"Moonlight Kiss," Raul Malo (pictured)
"Hush, Sorrow," Buddy and Julie Miller
"Turn Your Pretty Head Around," Mark Olson and Gary Louris
"Applejack," Pam Gadd and Dolly Parton
"Bad Timing (live)," Blue Rodeo (from Blue Road)
"No Choice in the Matter," Jason Isbell
"Fine Way to Treat Me," Randy Weeks
"Things I Like to Do," Ben Kweller
"Trouble in Mind," Jorma Kaukonen
"Someday I'll Be Forgiven for This," Justin Townes Earle
"(You Got to Pray to the Lord) When You See Those Flying Saucers," Dry Branch Fire Squad
"Weary Things," Andy Friedman & the Other Failures
"Inside Out," Missy Raines
"Hello in There," Jeffrey Foucault
"Lost River," Michael Martin Murphey
"Albuquerque Rainbow," Chris Darrow
"Grampa Built Bridges," Danny Schmidt
"When You Come Back Down," Danny O'Keefe

Nice try, but do you think there are any adventurous ears around here? However, I do appreciate you keeping this blog site fair and balanced. I’m embarrassed to say, I’m not familiar with Pam Gadd, Chris Darrow, or Danny Schmitt by name(I may be familiar with some of their work though). It gives me something to do. I will check them out. I like this…another blog especially for me.
thank you..
