Julianne Hough Offers Dancing for Dummies
Editor's note: This video, which Julianne Hough has titled Dancing for Dummies, is the first of several blogs she'll be contributing to CMT.com while she and boyfriend Chuck Wicks are contestants on the new season of Dancing With the Stars. In urging fans to check back for her updates, Hough says, "I know Chuck Wicks better than anybody, so I can give you all the dirt that nobody else would tell." The new season of DWTS premieres Monday (March 9) on ABC.

Are they both on a diet consisting of only Red Bull? They both come off like they are trying waaaay to hard to be funny and and convince people how in lurrrrve they are.*YAWN* It comes off very juvenile. Especially in comparison with the other blogs being done by the other competitors.

I love Julianne, but I have to admit that this comes across rather cheesy and staged. Please just be yourself, Jules, and go and dance your heart out. I think you and Chuck should just prove what you can do without all of the extra “scoop”. You’re not a two time champion for nothing, and you know how to motivate your partner. Just don’t lose yourself in the meantime, ok? I am missing the Julianne from Season 4 and even last season so much - I know you’re there and have faith that I’ll see that Julianne again. I don’t want your trying so hard to backfire and would love to see you on the show for a few weeks. Good luck!

I’m actually surprised that people are buying into this stuff. News Flash! Both Julianne and Chuck have hired a big time Hollywood Publicist whose job it is to create buzz about them in any way possible. Since neither one has a big time singing career at the moment they are going with the couple theme. This has been the marketing plan since last summmer when the publicist was hired. All of this is being controlled by someone behind the scenes. I love Julianne but too bad she got herself mixed up in this kind of mess. She’s young though. Maybe she will learn.

I love Julianne on the show. But this pairing with Chuck has surprised me in that she’d want to risk potential backlash and her professionalism being questioned. I can imagine what the other pros must be thinking about this. It seems like a slap in the face to them. I wouldn’t want my peers thinking I was getting special treatmet like this. The fact that Julianne and Chuck know each other already coming in IS an advantage, period. The others don’t have that advantage. I’ts going to be strange not voting for Julianne this season, but I just can’t do it as I don’t feel the pairing is fair. And I’m feeling rather disappointed with Julianne for thinking there is nothing unfair about this situation. Not to mention, that she seems to have been wanting to distance herself from her dancing with some of her previous comments but now the show isn’t such a nusiance as it seemingly was to her last season. And Chuck has previously mentioned that he had no interest in being on the show or in learning to dance. There have just been so many contradictions for a long time now, it’s becoming a bit difficult to continue to be a fan.

Cj, as fans none of us really ”know” Julianne. All we know is what’s presented to us. I’ve been a fan of hers since her first season on DWTS. I know what I’ve seen. Enough to form my own opinion that Julianne has indeed changed in some ways that are not particularly flattering. You may have a different opinion, that’s your perogative.
