I Met Randy Owen Through CMT Music Pass
We want to thank CMT.com for the incredible night at the Randy Owen concert. You sure picked the right girl for those concert tickets. I am truly one of his biggest fans. On our way to the casino that night, we were wondering what the concert would be like, if he was going to sing only his new songs and what his new band was like. When we reached the Shooting Star, we picked up our tickets only to realize not only were there tickets in that envelope -- but also meet-and-greet passes. I looked at my husband and said, "One of my life long dreams is about to come true."
We went to be seated and they said, "You are in general admission, but you need to be seated in the star section." By this time, I was in a state of shock. So we were seated in third row seats and waited for the show to begin. In the meantime, I was making new friends all around me. I enjoyed talking to people and hearing their Alabama stories. It was time for Randy to take the stage and oh, my gosh, it was just as exciting as it was 20 years ago. He sang every one of my favorite Alabama songs. Did he know I was there? His new music is awesome and his band sounded great. As the concert went on, it just got better and better, except everyone stayed seated, but by the last few songs, my new friends and I had them up on their feet. Randy made it all so intimate, and he chatted and accepted notes from the crowd and even brought a 5-year-old little girl on stage and we sang her "Happy Birthday." What a guy, so down to earth.
So after the awesome show, we went to the room for the meet-and-greet. It was my first meet-and-greet, and I didn't know what to expect. There were eight of us in the room, and this nice young man came in and told us we would be visiting with Randy and we could take photos and autographs. So they brought him in. I was shaking but I kept my composure. When it was my turn to meet him, I just snuggled right up next to him and told him the one thing I always wanted him to know. I told him that I was his biggest fan, and 22 years ago I so badly wanted to run away with him! And he was so nice about it all. Needless to say, my pictures didn't turn out that great because I was talking too much with Randy, but this nice guy said, "That's OK, you can take some more pictures." So I went through the line twice, then we got some really great shots. If you are on Facebook, request to be my friend and I have some pictures there.
Thank you CMT.com so much for the incredible memory-making-night with Randy Owen. I will never lose sight of my dreams because you never know when they will come true!

He really needs to get rid of that “former dictator of Iraq” look. It’s not working.
