The Softer Side of Toby Keith
Most of us have always known that Mr. Boot-in-Your-Ass has a soft spot. Toby Keith's on a mission to raise money to helps kids with cancer and their families. And so far, he's doing a hell of a job. Now his Toby Keith and Friends Golf Classic in Norman, Okla. (June 12-13) is poised to bring in even more funds for Ally's House and to build some more kid-friendly environments in the oncology ward of the Children's Hospital at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Keith's motivation is personal. Ally's House was started after Keith's friend and bandmate Scott Webb lost his daughter Allison to cancer in 2003, one month short of her third birthday. This is the sixth year of the benefit, and it has already raised more than $2.3 million. But like Keith says, "It takes a lot money to pull something like this off."

Great job toby, I always knew he was down to earth when you listen to his song or see him perform. He love to help everybody that need it and espically the children. Keep it going.

I have always been a Toby Keith fan, even before I found out what a great family man and caring person he is. What he does is what is so great about country performers, I believe it is wonderful how they are always willing to go the extra mile for someone in need.
Twangtown7 says:
Good for Toby. He’s still an arrogant SOB though. ;)

I always knew that Toby had a big heart. He probably has that kick you ass side too, but I think when It comes to kids everyone is touched and wants to help. I try and send money to :Feed the Children: and to our brave Vets. /there are sometimes though when things are pretty scimpy here to so I have to pass and then I feel bad.
Sometimes’s I’ve only been able to send 2-3 dollars, that’s not much but hopefully they know how to get the most out of it.
Keep releasing those great hits, mabe one day I will get to meet you.

Thank you Toby for supporting a great cause. You are great at giving back and we do appreciate you. Thank you for the continued good songs you give us. I want to also thank you for supporting our US Troops. My husband is Retired US Army after 23 + years. The little bit of home that you bring the troops by your visits mean the world to them. Keep up the good work. I wish you and your family much joy.
LOIS KEEFER says:
to me TOBY KEITH could sing anything and make it great bbut he is doing for not only the children but their parents is surprising and award winning, don’t know if TOBYis married himself or has children but with what all is doing it only goes to show just how great he would be with his own family and children.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GOD WILL REWARD YOU FOR ALL THE GOOD YOUR DOING.
Merri says:
Toby, I am a long time follower of yours and admire all the “behind the scenes” things you participate in without blowing your horn (so to speak). That shows it comes from the heart and not from the pocket book. Don’t ever change. Thank your family for sharing you with us.
Always a follower,
Merri
P.S.
Of your lastest CD I have to say “Missing Me Some You” is my fav.
Rocky says:
If Toby was not so full of himself, he would be alright, he has never helped another artist in his life, I should know I have 14 hits in the UK and have done it on my own with no help, all of them on an independent label out of Nashville, TN. I was born in Oklahoma also but did not have the money backing me that he had or has that is.
Sandy says:
Toby has a big heart! I love his music, he is my favorite and I always tell my husband that I am going to marry Toby. LOL He laughs also. My whole family is from Oklahoma, Norman and we have a farm in Perry. Hoping to meet you someday Toby.
Amy says:
My niece died of Wilms Tumor (what Ally had) in 2008. What families go thru and the extraordinary medical cost - I’m so glad that Toby is doing what he can to help these kids and their families.
To Rocky- Toby has his own label where he does help out artists. People only look at what he has now, NOT the sacrifices he made for 10+ years doing 200+ shows a year and being away from his family for weeks on end. He tells of the time he was so broke he couldn’t make his truck payment and he and his family would go to his parents’ house for a good meal. He got a break when Harold Shedd was given a demo tape by a flight attendant. Even after being discovered - Toby had to fight tooth and nail to get his music out - even as recently as 1999 (6 yrs after being discovered) borrowing every dime he had to buy his own album and take it to another label. Don’t resent Toby for what he has - take it as an example of work ethic and how you should be working hard at your own career.
Lanny says:
It is evident from Rocky’s comment that he is not familiar with Toby’s history. Amy you are spot on about Toby. The Nashville establishment obviously resents any success Toby gets. Because he gets it on his own with no help from them. He has also been supporting the Troops with a couple weeks every year out in the field with them over seas. His indendence is a refreshing contrast to all the Nashville establishment kiss ups.
Anna says:
I fell in love with you at first glance. I love your song writing ability, your gorgeous face, your smile, your long legs in those jeans and; Hell I even love your damn boots! I’ve bought all of your CDs, watched all of your videos, read all current news, and keep up with where your tours are taking you. I wake up to your music starting with the Christmas Special- love when you sing “Bells will be ringing…..just precious!” I also love the duet with Jewel-she is fantastic. Then its on to your movies, can’t get enough. Your kiss with Kelly Preston was so good. The music was incredible. When you bend over to Kelly on the porch that was even better than a kiss SWEET and SEXY. When you sing in that black t-shirt YUMMY. You’ve got it and keep it coming–I’m the best critic you’ll ever have. Favorite song - You Make Me Weak, You Already Love Me, I Want to Rock You, When We Were In Love, etc. You are a good Southern-raised man with untouchable qualities, a good husband, father and citizen.
I get a chill when you sing and I fall in love with you always over and over again. Yes, I am the fan that you “drive wild” as you say in that song I’m missing me some you! Hopelessly devoted to you in Annapolis, Md. P.S. Did not get to see you in Annapolis when you were here last–won’t miss the next time.

Twangtown7 and Rocky, you both better saddle up and get the facts straight. Toby is humble and very talented and gracious and a hardworking man. He knows his own path and has worked hard for everything he has achieved. He always helps others along the way. Just ask Rascal Flatts, who Toby put on his first headlining tour when no one else wanted to help Rascal Flatts. Just ask the artists on his label. Anyone that tours with Toby is treated well. He supports the troops everywhere and does so much for his fans.
Inez Higgins says:
Toby I think it is so cool the things you do for the kids.I really like all your songs, and i have seen both of your movies. Broken Bridges and Beer for my horses. I love you Toby.
Toby Fan says:
Love Toby Keith. Discovered him about 5 years ago. Not a huge fan of country music but he is the best in my mind. Love all his songs. He writes them from the male side (opinion) and they female side we want to hear. Wish he would put out some softer songs for us middle age ladies or younger. Something good to slow dance too like his earlier years. Not the drinking cheating songs. Saw him last 3 years in Pittsburgh. GREAT SHOW. Can’t wait to go again this year. Keep up the good work and hope he gets some nominations and votes. I am sick of all the younger ones, and SAME FEW AGAIN AND AGAIN. Keep up the good work. He deserves. LIVE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD IN MY OPINION. Congratulations on being a grandpa. I bet Trisha and others kids are excited. Love your songs : Mr Toby Keith Covel.
Midge Wheeler says:
I am proud to be a Toby Keith fan. Love the music, songs he writes, his patriotism, charitable contributions, attitude and demeanor. Bad Boy-Good Man. Thank you Toby for making the world a better place.
Gladys Fletcher says:
Toby is a great guy. My daughter Elisha had liver cancer and was sent home to die. Toby called her about a week before she passed away, this ment the world to her. She was in her bed and couldn’t get up, but after she talked to Toby she got up and sat in the couch. To see my daughter actually smile ment the world to me. Elisha loved Toby and he put a smile on her face we hadn’t seen in a long time.
Thanks
