Carrie Underwood a Jonas Brothers Fan? Not So Fast
Who wouldn't stop and read a headline like this: "Grammy rehearsals with Carrie Underwood: She's a JoBros fan." I thought for sure it would be a story about how the pop threesome was on Underwood's playlist, that maybe she had "Burnin' Up" as her ringtone and that their sound was going to be a major influence on her next album. But I think the Los Angeles Times music blog jumped to conclusions and jumped in the wrong direction. They were basing that attention-grabbing headline on the fact that Underwood was "grooving as she walked through the corridors of the arena" during the JoBros rehearsal of "Superstition." Which isn't even a Jonas Brothers song, it's a Stevie Wonder song. And even though it was a hit about a decade before Underwood was born, I get that it has a beat everyone loves. And hearing Wonder play it with the JoBros would be cool. But does that make Underwood a Jonas fan? This proves nothing, except that maybe she digs classic Stevie Wonder.

Well, I am not sure why I clicked on, except I was bored, but this blog was about as ‘who cares’ as I have ever seen.
Not sure what the point was, but with all the stories Country Music has to offer, this is all you got.lol
RedMaZ says:
Hey…be nice. It’s all she could come up with during recess.
Melissa says:
Hmm….yeah, I’ve got to agree with you Alison. I think the media jumps to conclusions way too soon. It’s like, if someone is seen eating a hot dog, press articles can read “____ will never be a vegan.” It’s just ridiculous! Maybe Carrie just liked the song or aybe she liked the beat, and maybe she DOES like the Jonas Brothers. The only way to know is to actually ask Carrie. Now I bet someone will…
Alison Bonaguro says:
Thanks for coming to my defense, RedMaZ. Gold star for you.

in my book best of the night way to go carrie
BaronL says:
the Jonas Brothers have no business being in the same STATE as Stevie Wonder little alone that same stage…as a matter of fact that goes for Carrie Underwood as well.
barb b says:
what is your problem not posting my
comments i am not to happy about this
first of all this is the first time i commented
on carrie performance and her guitar player
and if you choose not to print it your problem……..
Brenda says:
baronL-that is your opinion, and I don’t know Jonas Bros, or what they sing, but I doubt very much Carrie is a fan, but has too much class to say it-Not nice what you said, and I personally think Carrie is very deserving. She was there invited to sing the song that gave her a grammy-I am happy for her. If you can’t say something nice, say nothing at all!!! That is my motto-The Jonas brothers I do not know how they sing, but must do something right to be there.

Happens to me all the time David. I do not know what happened to having an opinion…I guess if you do not agree with some people they will take you off. I have yet to even use a bad word. Go figure! I love Carrie Underwood.
Jan says:
Alison, I enjoy everything you write. You’re right….that was such a misleading headline. I hate that! Thanks for the blog. I find everything you write about Carrie spot on….and I love that you would publish something like this….just to set the record straight, if nothing else. And Melissa is absolutely right: Carrie may/may not like the JBs…who knows. It’s so irritating when a headline like that turns out to be totally deceptive (at the very least.) The article attached is usually not worth reading….
Kristy says:
Great blog & point Alison. I agree, there are so many misleading or deceptive headlines in articles today. When you read the articles, most of them usually has nothing to do with the headline. I call them “buy me attention grabbers”
By the way any of you complaining about Alison deleting your post I don’t believe that to be the case at all. I get my post deleted a lot, not only myself but my hubby and daughter. I believe the guilty cultprit is the CMT blog filter, which in my opinion needs some tweaking.
Have a great day all.

Be nice…..
AC says:
She could be a Jonas fan. She said George Michael is her biggest musical influence and she listens to different types of music.
Emily_T says:
I love CARRIE, And i dont know if she is a joebro fan , I just know that she is a fan of MUSIC, any and all ,
so what does it matter
side note i agree the joe bros should not be in the same sentance as stevie let alone on the same stage as him
MUCH LOVE FOR CARRIE
tootsiepop says:
I agree!Just because you dance to the beat, doesnot mean anything except killing time!
LOVE YOU CARRIE! YOUR THE BEST!
Avery says:
Love Carrie and her music! She has said she is a fan of all types of music..but who could resist grooving to Stevie Wonder…he is awesome! She was probably just enjoying them both at the time!
lily says:
I dance to songs i don’t even like (But i DO love the jonas brother!). Sometimes it’s just fun to dance around. Perhaps she was was just enjoying herself.
:D
hotelmotel says:
It was a misleading headline, to be sure.
miranda says:
I dont think that would classify someone as a fan. just because the dance and walk at the same time to a song doesnt mean anything. i dance and walk if there is a song playing that i like no matter who sings it. superstition is a wonderful song though. so i think they have no base on to say she is a fan of there stuff.
