Could the Carter Twins Be Country's JoBros

Carter TwinsTeenager phenom takes Nashville by storm? Wait, this story sounds so familiar. But this time, it's not about Taylor Swift. It's the boy version, times two. The Carter Twins are Music City's newest duo, full of innocent songwriting and sweet harmonies and electric guitars and playful keyboards. They even blog incessantly about their personal lives. Josh and Zach Carter are just 18, but already they've got producer Frank Rogers and other industry big shots behind them. The debut single, "Heart Like Memphis," is about that kind of good girl who gives the world her best and calls her mom every day. But underneath all that perfection is a heart like Memphis. So if you'd been waiting for a country version of the Jonas Brothers, maybe the Carter Twins are your guys. All that's missing are the posters for every tween girl in America.

    I think truth in advertising rules require disclosure that the Carter Twins are on a label affiliated with CMT, or maybe not… If these two want to tap into the Jonas Brothers demographic they need to get on the Disney Channel somehow, or at least Radio Disney. Its too bad they didn’t get booked to open for Taylor Swift’s headlining concerts as I think they would be preferred by the screamin’ tweenies over Gloriana.The big question: Will the Carter Twins fare better than the Warren Brothers, and will an “Almost Famous” reality show be far behind? Hmm…..

    I love country and hate pop. Jonas Brothers are pop so why would I be waiting for a country version of them? No way! The Carter Twins are pop and they sound like the Backstreet Boys. Maybe they can open for Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson.

    I don’t care too much for the jonas brothers…. but I like the Carter Twins…. I hope they dont get a contract with Disney cause they might end up like most of the Disney stars spoiled and some what braty, I can’t wait for the Carter twins’ cd. Who knows maybe they’ll become as big as Taylor Swift or some of the other younger country stars.

    these guys are no good. I have been seeing them all over country music websites but they really have no hype here in the city, just a good publicist. No country fans are going crazy over them and there def not taking nashville or country music by storm. It always happens, when there is a succesful act then labels try to copy…ala copying taylor swift.

It’s not like you could do any better and if you think you can then you go sing for Disney!! Give them a chance, they could be the next Big and Rich or someone else.

    I woke up to the song….add i loved it. I had to Google the boys. This song is so cute and its got a really good tempo. And as far as needing Disney channel, the JoBros already had a famous brother on Broadway long before Disney wanted a pay cut. The Carter Twins don’t need Disney to be famous, only sale outs need Disney, that’s why emo wrist cutting Demi sings for Disney. In conclusion The Carter Twins are AWSOME!

    just watched their music video for “heart like memphis.” I liked it i think they will go pretty far with that song. I dont think to much bout the jonas brothers, but i do have a few friends that are obssesed with them.i think the carter twins are better. Carter twins have an amazing harmony!!!!!!!!:-) and their cute

    I think they are great! They will get far because they are good singers and they are Hot! They are no were The Johnus Brothers. They don’t know how to sing. The cater twins can!     The Carter Twins are AWESOME!!!!! They are so much better than the Jonas Brothers!!!! The Jonas Brothers are old news and their songs are pointless! “Heart Like Memphis” actually has meaning and is well written! So no I don’t think The Carter Twins are the next Jonas Brothers, I think they will be bigger and better than them!!!!     i just turned 18 last month, and i can totally understand where they are coming from. two teenagers who are struggling for people to aprove of them, they are majorly talented and i think they will go far in the country music industry. they have the most perfect harmony. they sound awesome! keep up the good work boys! =D

    I’m 15 me and my friends had a sleepover and every morning I wake up to cmt and the carter twins came on - I had never seen them before - and I was like there hot and I listened for about three more seconds before waking my friends up screaming and then we all searched them on the internet for like an hour trying to find posters and bios and anything about them, but I disagree with you they aren’t the county music version of the JoBros they are the new and improved blonde JoBros. I defiantly want to see more music from them. And another thing either one of them would look really good with Taylor Swift!!!!!!!!!

    I’m pretty sure these guys aren’t related to Aaron or Nick Carter…. They grew up in Akron, OH before they moved to South Carolina. I actually think they are pretty good singers and I love “Heart Like Memphis” I think they’ll make the duo thing work for them… since they’re twins and all. Of course everyone has something bad to say about them…. STOP READING STUFF ABOUT THEM IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEM! Of course you are probably the people that think Taylor Swift is an amazing singer… which I do not believe at all… and believe she can be the only young artist out there blah… These guys will be better than the Jonas Brothers.. they are not them at all, we shouldn’t try to compare the 2 anyway.

    I think that the Carter Twins song “Heart Like Memphis” is really good. Their harmony is amazing throughout the song. The music video wasn’t the greatest, but it’s their first…give ‘em a chance…it may take time. :) But I think that their voices can/will get them far. I think that comparing them to Taylor Swift isn’t really appropriate. Their voices show much more ability and promise than her’s has.

    These two can go far, and I’m sure they will. :)

    These kids are horrible, their voices suck, the only song i ever heard by them is horrible, its so pathetic, this aint country, its 2 punk looking kids who couldnt make it in their style of music so they came to ruin country.     Reading these posts i think about only 3% of the people who watch CMT actually like country music. Countrys practically dead, i wouldnt call half this shit coming out anymore country. If you took the time to watch the video, get on the computer, look them up and make negative remarks then you must not have a life!!!     The Carter Twins are hot and can sing and i herd them for the first time today and i fell in love! But The Jonas Brothers are my world!     Go see these guys live before you knock them… they can really sing! Much better than many of the auto-tuned “singers” out there today. They didn’t get to this point because they’re lucky or because they’re “white kids from the suburbs who wanted to try something new.” They’re talented and they work very hard.

    Coming from someone who has listened to country since before she could talk… these boys have amazing potential. No they are not at the caliber of George Strait, Alan Jackson, or Garth Brooks. But I could never expect them to be. Those men our legends and always will be. The Carter Twins are young and are just starting out, please do not judge them so hastily. They have beautiful voices and wonderful harmony (that is very country). Remember Trace Adkins’ description of what he sings “country music, mixed with a little rock, and a little blues”.

    Allright guys i read the comments, and it is pretty obvious that only the girls are the ones who were giving the carter twins praise, I understand that they are cute, and blonde or whatever, but you should really appreciate musicians for what they are in the industry for, their music! Having said that, they do harmonize well I will give them that, but I am not a fan at all, I mean Im a Kenny Chesney, George strait, Garth Brooks kinda guy. But I definitely see this being a new sub genre of the country music. But yeah they are definitely not the traditional country sound, so that is a good thing to some and bad to others.

    ya i think that the carter twins should be the new jb bc the jbs SUCK!!!! i hate the jonas brothers there so annoying the carter twins are amazing and singing the song heart like memphis which is my favortie song. The carter twins are amazingly hott and will always think that.

    they have real potential and i like the jonas brothers and if they come as far as they did that will be amazing. all i have to say to them is watch out for the screaming girls and just keep goin until you reach your goal. good luck to Josh and Zack Carter and may all you dreams come come true with a long lasting career aheasd of you.

    I think they are ok.but i do have to agree they sound to pop. But there is a new twin group up and coming that is true rockin country. They are called “Dixie Tradition” from louisiana check them out and see for yourself.. http://www.mydixitraditon.com

    The Carter Twins are such amazing guys and deserve whatever fame they come upon. I have had the priviledge to meet them several times and I even hung out with them on their bus on Saturday night in Houston. Some how being compared to the Jonas Brothers got brought up and Zach said “We aren’t the Jonas Brothers and we never will be. I would love to have that kind of sucess, but we are nothing like them.” I just thought I would let you know just because they are brothers and musicians in a band together doesn’t make them another Jonas Brothers band. =D

    ok I may be a couple years older then the twins but I think their GREAT!     It’s funny how people want to talk so much about how much they love Big & Rich, the Jonas Brothers, even the carter twins. But honestly this isn’t country music at all. It’s not country without Twang, without heart. The problem is these young kids who think they know what new and upcoming is the best, It’s not. Just because they’re mother worked in Country music, doesn’t make them country, they have to live it. If you looked up Country music in a Music Dictionary (if one existed), you would find artist listed under it as Garth Brooks, Chris Ledoux, George Strait, Hank Williams Sr. & Jr., Reba, and even Martina McBride. Thats real Country, and its insulting to anything related to Country to say this is that genre. I’m not saying they are horrible singers, because I have to agree, they have great vocals, and are very talented. But they are no Brooks & Dunn.
