Wynonna Wants to Put You in a Headlock
Wynonna's roots are showing on her new album, Sing Chapter 1. In addition to some handpicked blues and rock covers, she also reinterprets country classics from the likes of Merle Haggard, Hank Williams and Tammy Wynette.
"There's a moment in my show when I get to talk about the history of country music and that we're losing our legends," she says. "And the fact is, Merle has one of the greatest voices of all time. If you listen to his catalog, I'm going to tell you what -- there is nobody better. And the next generation of country music listeners -- in my opinion, without getting on my soapbox -- needs to hear this music. They need to know where we've come from. A lot of these whippersnappers today, they probably don't know much about him. And I just want to get them in a headlock and say, ‘Come with me for a week,' and show them the way of where we've come from."

Ha! Good luck Judd. From my observations, most of today’s Pop Country fans can’t get past their top 40 commercial radio. Most don’t even know about the rest of today’s Country Music scene, let alone care about the legends.
Rest in Peace, Buddy, Ritchie, and J.P :(

The lack of comments here from those above mentioned whippersnappers, kind of proves that point quite nicely.
