Gone Country 3: Tara Conner

Posted: January 15th, 2009 at 4:45 pm  |  By: Tara Conner

Tara ConnerTara Conner is one of the celebrities participating in this season of Gone Country 3. She shares her thoughts about the upcoming experience.

I am Tara Conner, former Miss USA 2006. I wanted to do Gone Country 3 because it's an opportunity to work in Nashville, which I love. It feels like home to me because I grew up in Kentucky. I've always been a music fan and I've always been kind of a closet singer. I just feel like it's a great opportunity for me to step into this world and just see if I can do it, because there is a lot of talent involved and there is a lot of heart that goes into it. It's always been something that I thought I could do, but it's kind of like an inner battle. It gives me a chance to conquer one of my fears and hopefully start a new beginning.

I am a big country fan, because I grew up with it. I worked at a roadhouse and we always had it playing there. All our friends had bands and so they would have jam sessions at their house, and I would just go and hang out and then I would grab the mic and I would sing. It's just a lot of fun. There's a lot of fun that comes with country music. I think I can write a country song because I'm from the south. The audience that I have to appeal to on a day to day basis now is foreign to me, where this is more of a home style kind of feel. I feel like some of the things that I've been through and some of the challenges I've had to face, they're everyday challenges that a lot of people have to go through. And everyday struggles they have to go through. So I feel like it will be easy for me to put that on paper. I think it's going to be a roller coaster! Because for me, it's scary because I'm not a singer. I'm a closet singer. I sing in the shower. But living in a house with random people that you don't really know, it's going to be scary, but I have high hopes for it. I think it's going to be a learning experience and a growing process. So I think it's going to be really neat. I think my fans should watch the show because I think everyone has a preconceived notion of me. Everyone knows me as the rehabbed beauty queen. But I have so much more to offer than that. There's so much more to me than that, that's so far off from who I actually am, so it's just an opportunity to show people your genuine self. I'm looking forward to some of the activities, and I'm looking forward to southern cooking. I miss it so bad! I'm just ready to embrace this experience and get it started.

Tara you can do anything you set your mind to your a beautiful girl, and you have enough talent to achieve any dream you want. Use the words of those who look down upon your past as motivation to become the best.

It tskes a lot of guts to do this. You are one of the strongest people I have ever seen. You face challenges head on and hold your head high which I commend you for. Everyone makes mistakes in life but not everyone grows from there negative experiances. You have and you are an inspiration to many. Good luck Tara!!

“Children of privilege.” That’s all these people are on this show. People, get off of your hineys and go see some actual talent busting their butts in the bars trying to make it. Don’t support these “celebrities” that get a free record deal just because they made the news coking it up in NYC. You might as well give a deal to Paris Hilton too!

Sorry but these reality shows suck. And this show must have needed former Miss Fake to garner some ratings. Although I am sure she has Rich wrapped just like she had windbag Trump.

I just watched”Gone Country 3″ and I can’t wait to hear your song. I can so relate to your struggles. I was always thought of as a popular person, but I had very few friend and was extremely lonely. I too turned to substances to compensate for the loneliness. Something I still struggle with. Keep up the good work. You are truly an inspiration.

For Tara, Tara you have a very special gift in that you can pull up lines and rhymes that are unique, I think the biz may call them ‘hooks’. They are real and connect with people like me. While I don’t see you as a performance artist, I do see you with some work being a prolific and successful part of a songwriting team. Thank you so much for allowing us to get to know you THE REAL YOU on Gone Country 3.

    Hi Tara & USA

Tara has transformed from a beautiful woman with faults to a beautiful lady with responsibility. Ladettes are more likely to listen to her than anyone else. Americans who sledge Tara most likely still know someone who has an addiction. They are just hypercrites. Donald Trump is a true American. He helps others. Australians love and respect Trump. I commend Tara, for the person she has become. Australians love Tara, she is more than welcome to visit Australia. God Bless you, Tara. Hugs & Kisses.
