Wounded Marine Veteran Stephen Cochran Has Cement in His Back – But That Won't Stop Him
Stephen Cochran's "Friday Night Fireside" is all about the joys of being home and enjoying freedom, and it's a topic that he can sing about from a unique perspective. After the attacks of 9/11, Cochran put his life on hold and enlisted in the Marines. He served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, lost a close friend in combat and broke his back in six places before returning home. Told that he would never walk again, a procedure was found that used 4 pounds of cement epoxy to repair the damage to his spine. Since his recovery, Cochran has pursued his love of music with a new mission to support the troops wherever he goes. Currently he is touring in Iraq and Afghanistan and has been blogging and taking photos the whole time. You can also check out his video blog here.
