The Hillbilly Roots of Jack Black
Of all the uncountry people to dip a toe into the Nashville sound, this one surprises me most. Jack Black, of High Fidelity, School of Rock and Nacho Libre fame, recently recorded some bluegrass stuff with his father-in-law and jazz musician Charlie Haden. "I think I've got some hillbilly in my roots," Black told the press. "I'm already practicing my square dancing (for) if we play the Grand Ole Opry." I know nothing of his dance skills, but the guy can definitely sing. His gritty voice lends a modern feel to the old-timey banjo tune "Old Joe Clark." It's a long, long way from Black's typical musical fare, like "The Government Totally Sucks" and "Dude (I Totally Miss You)," songs from his rock band. If he's serious about this little country romp, it may be time to say fare thee well, Tenacious D.

I think Jack Black is hilarious. I kind of think he’s the type you either love him or in your case Kevin hate him.
