Let's Play "Guess the Rascal Flatts News"
The curiosity is seriously killing me. Rascal Flatts will make a "very special announcement" tomorrow (Jan. 7) on the People's Choice Awards on CBS, according to the band's Web site. For the life of me, I cannot imagine what it could be. It can't be something awful like that the band is breaking up or that one of the guys is getting divorced because that would be handled via a dull two-sentence press release and certainly not during a live performance on a nationally televised awards show. And it can't be something underwhelming like the name of their upcoming album. Or that there will be a bonus track if you buy the CD from a retailer with an exclusive deal. Or that the liner notes are printed on some kind of eco-friendly paper with eco-friendly ink. Those kind of things hardly deserve a live announcement.
Could the trio be adding a fourth Flatt? Could there be a golden ticket inside 10 specially marked packages? Could the band be on the verge of making a crossover to heavy metal? Maybe it's just that Gary Levox is going to grow out his hair. Or the Flatts are going to get matching outfits, maybe even launch into some synchronized choreography.
One way to find out early is to text NEWRFCD to 66937 -- or just wait and tune in. You'll get to watch Rascal Flatts and Carrie Underwood perform, probably see them both take home armloads of awards and witness the huge announcement. Unless you already know what it is, in which case you should post it below to assuage everyone's curiosity.

I’m excited! But Ms Bonaguro, all of your possible explanations sound pretty crazy. I’m assuming they are letting their fans pick the title of the new CD or performing a new song. Those kind of things DO deserve a live announcement.

It’s going to be the title of the new CD and the release date of it. I guarantee you! But I already heard that the CD was being released on April 21. So, I guess that just leaves the title…

Ya, I’m guessing it’s the tittle of the new CD and/or the name of it. On the website there’s a video that says if you sent a text to a specific number, you can be the “first” to know the album name/date. So, judging by that I’m guessing they’re going to reveal it to ALL the fans??
I’ve also seen some rumors about the annoucement having something to do with a special contest that is exclusivly for people who are registered at the People’s Choice website. Maybe a concert flyaway or something…

Yeah, I think it’ll be the name & release date of their new album. They posted a myspace bulletin a few days ago with a video of them saying that if you text to that number, they’ll tell you the name & release date of the album. I texted to the number! So I guess I’ll get the text with that info tomorrow & then they’ll announce it on air tomorrow night.

I think they’re adding three chick singers with really low voices for a few releases. And when they begin to win lots of awards again…they will all check in to rehab…come out clean…and release some previously unreleased material…Alvin and the Chipmunks cover tunes.

BW- Buzz off! These guys have millions of fans who adore their amazing voices and harmony…And, check your facts they ARE winning lots of awards. They just tied the Statler brothers for most wins in the vocal group category, they recently won at an award at an all-genre awards show as well.
