See Lee Ann Womack in a Walmart
Ok, so it's not like she was there stocking up on paper towels and granola bars and light bulbs and Call Me Crazy CDs. But Lee Ann Womack was in a Walmart studio doing this little Soundcheck performance. It's really cool to watch her perform her latest single "Last Call" (plus "The Bees" and "Solitary Thinkin'" and more) and to read what she has to say about the tune: "It just has that in the bars, smoky country music vibe. I'm really proud when I hear it on the radio -- considering how country it is." She goes on to talk about the importance of twin fiddles and steel guitar, the most cliché but most dead-on definition of the country music sound, when she says "Nothing excites me more than a young person who loves twin fiddles and steel guitars." But sadly, there's not even a single fiddle playing in this showcase.
Lee Ann Womack's Unplugged at Studio 330 session will premier tomorrow (Jan. 6). Click here to watch the sneak peek.

We have always been irritated by the program promos in the lower right corner. Last night, it went way beyond irritation when we tried to read the subtitles in Dances With Wolves. Not only did the usual promo in the right corner make reading difficult, there were the promos flashing on the screen from the lower left side. It not only blocked the subtitles, it blocked a good share of the picture.
The person who came up with this way of progam advertising should be fired. Don’t you have enough faith in your viewers to trust that the will remember what they want to watch?

lee ann is a talented country singer. she has been over looked by all of the young, blond singers. she can truly sing a country song. hope her last call song stays around for awhile.
RedMaZ says:
You need to explain how Womack is being overlooked by all the young blonde singers. That makes no sense. What young blonde singer is overlooking Womack, and where did you get this information from?
RedMaZ says:
As I recall you’re that prejudice person, so there is no need for you to talk to me anymore. Prejudice is an ugly thing, and I’ll have no part of it.

I seem to recall a comment I made awhile back along the lines of…if I love Pop country, and YOU don’t, you listen to Roots or whatever, that only means I more than likely would not like it because we are polar opposites in music taste and preference. That is NOT prejudice, just pointing out the differences in our tastes. You never have anything positive to say about Pop country/artists on these blogs, so why WOULD I check out your stuff?
Prejudice? NO!
Prsonal taste/preference/choice? YES!
Now if you can say something NICE about MY choice of music, perhaps I would be more inclined to check out YOUR choice. And, knowing my taste for most (not all) of the mainstream country pop artists, can you give me a few names that MIGHT be favorable to me in YOUR preferred music? I can have my son download a few on his computer for me to listen to, or burn a CD compilation of a few you think I might like. How’s that for compromise?
