LeAnn Rimes Stops Hiding Her Psoriasis
Eighty percent. That's how much of LeAnn Rimes' body was covered by psoriasis by the time she was only 6 years old. "I remember being called ‘scaly girl,' and never ever wanting to go out in a bathing suit," she admits. And it stayed that way even when she was breaking into the music business -- which would explain why she was always wearing long pants and dresses on the red carpets, and why she wore pantyhose when she performed. But thanks to some new treatments, she hasn't had a problem in five years. Therapy helped, too. She told health.com, "It has taken a mental toll on me, but it is something that I am getting through day by day. I am slowly, slowly coming out of the hole that it puts you in." (That sounds so much better than the coal tar treatments she went through in the past.) Rimes is now working with StopHiding.org, so people better understand the disease and how to cope with all the symptoms.

I have a relative with Psoriasis and she uses the tanning beds which helps some, but it is one health trade-off for another. I am glad LeAnn is using her celebrity to bring this condition into focus because I am sure it must bring comfort to all those suffering with Psoriasis and other skin conditions. I’m also glad it hasn’t kept LeAnn from using her gift of voice to share with us- love her music & videos.

I didn’ know LeAnn had psoriasis. I’m really glad she was able to finally overcome that and become more confident. I’m also glad someone in the music industry could look past that and to her amazing voice and actually give her a chance (way back when she was first starting)

She (Alison) got this off People.com- word for word
Kay says:
Jan - what’s your point? I think Alison was just trying to inform us. She wasn’t taking credit for writing it?
Regardless of who wrote it, it’s still good and informative :)
Jan says:
My point was exactly what I wrote
Nothing more
Nothing less
Thanks

Kay, IF (and that’s a big if because I don’t know) Alison got this off of People.com that is plagiarism. And yes she IS taking credit for the story because it says ‘by Alison Bonaguro’ with no credit given to anyone else.
Valerie says:
Is she getting paid? Should at least mention where it came from.
