Julianne Hough Visits Rachael Ray's Kitchen

Posted: December 23rd, 2008 at 10:54 am  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Julianne Hough and Rachael RayShe can sing. She can dance. But can she cook? We'll find out tomorrow when Julianne Hough, one of country's newest darlings, hooks up with Rachael Ray on Christmas Eve's episode of The Rachael Ray Show. And while we watch Hough making one of her favorite holiday meals, chicken curry casserole, those two girls will be doing a lot of chit-chatting too. Hough will get into what it feels like to have the media (that would be us) commenting on her every move now that she's famous and in love with fellow country star Chuck Wicks. "Apparently I have heard in the last couple of weeks we are getting married, I don't have a ring on my finger, so that's weird ... we are definitely taking it slow," she tells Ray. "We are absolutely not getting married. Yes, we have a dog together, but does the public really need to know that?"

Yes Julianne — the public does need to know when YOU are the one putting all of this information out there! It bothers me that Julianne seems to think that she can use the media to promote herself and her personal life and then get all upset when the reaction is not positive. If you can’t stand the heat Julianne - get out of the kitchen.

I like Julianne a lot. I like her personality, voice and dancing. I think she gets a bum rap from being on Dancing With The Stars. She has a very unique voice and a good range. I loved her on Opry with Carrie, Martina. The end song they did together was fun and she keept right up with them.

Rachael Ray always does a nice job with Julianne during interviews. I think this is the third time she has appeared in public on the show.

Her brother’s band just singed a record deal too. Apparently singing along with dancing must run in their genes. The BallasHough Band is a different sort of sound but I like the demo I heard that they recently put up on MySpace. Julianne sounded great on both Christmas in Washington along with Carrie and Martina the other night on the Opry. She is definitely on a hot streak. She was selected to be the opening act for George Strait next year. Talk about exposure. Congrats to both of them. It is nice to see their careers taking off.

Even though Julianne is cute, perky with a decent pop country voice, Marc makes a good point. When you are a celebrity and “share” info with the media, you WILL get comments, good and bad, and you don’t get to pick & choose. If you want it private, KEEP it private, don’t offer info.

Here she goes again…Julianne, YOU are the one putting your life out there every chance you get. Get over yourself and stop pretending to be so innocent.

“yes we have a dog together but does the public really need to know that” well no we don’t but you Julianne insist on telling us about this and other personal things.
Why? To keep your name in the news.So quit whining.

And look at that picture way too much perkiness for me.

I had the chance to meet Julianne and Chuck Wicks this past May @ the ACM’s. They are both terrific people. Julianne is sweet and down to earth. She was born to entertain.

The public really doesn’t need to know certain things. Unfortunately it’s Julianne herself who makes sure these things get out there and then says she’s been misquoted or acts surprised when certain things are known about her personal life. Seems to be a pattern lately. She used to keep her personal life private until the Chuck Wicks hookup.

She’s a very talented girl but I wish she didn’t seemingly feel the need to play the country sterotype to the hilt in order to be accepted.

I agree, Julianne is a born entertainer. I have been vastly entertained by her all year. This appearance should be a lot of fun.

Julianne is just a young girl. She is not telling you privite things. She has a dog with Chuck. Not an earth shaking statement. Give the girl a chance. Give her a break
let her do something bad before you take her head off.

For the person who said that they met Julianne & Chuck at the ACM’s this past May then you must have also met his girlfriend Heather since she was there with him and they were still very much together. Julianne looks very much like Heather only a younger version. If Julianne knew that Chuck was involved than I’m disappointed in her but I tend to think it was more Chuck deciding that he needed to trade up and get a girlfriend who could help his career out more. The ACM’s must have been a tricky event for him trying to juggle both girls.

    To Callie:

When I met Julianne and Chuck Wicks, it was @ the MGM and they were just hanging out like several other country stars. Pretty casual. They were on tour together with Brad Paisley at that time.

  • Kymberly says:

    Posted: December 25th, 2008 at 2:25 am

rockerbillie, Julianne and Chuck were not on tour yet at that time. The ACM’s in Las Vegas were in May. The Paisley tour did not begin until the second week of June.

  • Callie says:

    Posted: December 25th, 2008 at 8:06 pm

You’re right Kymberly. The AMC’s were in May and Julianne went with her mother while Heather was there with Chuck. So Julianne would have had to know that she was “hanging out” with someone else’s man and that she was putting herself right back into the position of looking like the other woman again in breaking up a long time relationship. Not a very smart move on Julianne’s part but I guess she didn’t care as long as she got what she wanted.

Look @ the claws, they are out! Jealousy @ it’s finest. Julianne, just keep doing what you are doing. Your talent and career will carry you. People will gossip anyway even if they have not clue about the truth.

  • rockerbillie says:

    Posted: December 26th, 2008 at 11:31 am

Well Callie, sure is alot of assuming going on. The award shows are also events where the stars can get together because of their busy schedules. Rehearsals may take place and there are after shows. There were many stars hanging out and having a good time. I met them separately, not together.

Fun program. Rachael Ray is irritating to no end with her spastic energy, but Julianne kept right up with her. The cooking segment was great and it was funny that Julianne was nervous. Julianne mom would be proud of her; she has a lot to be proud of concerning her daughter, not just the cooking. Thought Julianne would have talked more about her upcoming appearances, since this feature was taped before the Opry and Christmas in Washington and she would have known about opening for George Strait. tee-Rex is right. Julianne needs to keep doing EXACTLY what she’s doing.

  • Heidi says:

    Posted: December 26th, 2008 at 5:35 pm

I watched this segment and Julianne is a bundle of engergy. However I was completely offended by the way Julianne talked about Chuck Wicks. I have been a fan of his forever and for her to call him a “little country singer” is degrading. Who exactly does Julianne think she is right now? She is a joke in country music and not taken seriously because of her actions. If you ask me, she is the “little country singer” and only popular because of her looks and her dancing. I hope that Chuck is prepared because because it will only be a matter of time before Julianne moves on to someone else who can further her career more.

rockerbillie, Chuck just said in a recent interview that he really got to know Julianne the night of the ACM’s in Vegas. He said they had some deep conversation over five different deserts. It’s not that hard to assume things from that little statement right from the horse’s mouth. He and Julianne seem oblivious or just plain insensitve when they say these things knowing full well Heather was still in the picture at that point and that people do know this. I cut Julianne a little slack being she is only 20 years old,and although she seems mature in some ways not so much in others, like relationships. Chuck is 29 years old has been in longterm relationships, so what’s his excuse?

When first we practice to deceive!

  • Jackson says:

    Posted: December 27th, 2008 at 11:46 am

I find these posts from Eve rather strange and pretty disturbing. They are virtually calling Julianne a liar since Julianne has been very vocal about saying the exact opposite. In fact just look at the article that we are commenting on and see what Julianne says: “we are definitely taking it slow,” she tells Ray. “We are absolutely NOT getting married.”

So is this inside information just a scam or is Julianne stupid enough to think that she can make these statements and then change her mind and no one will notice? Julianne is a lot of things but I don’t think stupid is not one of them. This would certainly be hard to say that the media twisted her words since Julianne is the one who said the words! Her dishonesty with the public and her fans would eliminate any shread of credibility that Julianne has left and I can’t see her risking that. She says that she wants to be taken seriously but a stunt like this would put Julianne right back with all the other people who will sell their soul for a little publicity.

to Sandy, I have not followed the Chuck interviews and I only mentioned the ACM’s because I had the chance to meet Julianne and Chuck separately as well as some other stars @ the ACM’s. I did not observe any of what you state in the interview. So I am not going to comment one way or another on that. I appreciate the artists for their talent and their music.

Playing Devil’s Advocate here. This show was probably taped awhile ago. So Julianne’s comments may have been made previously. And the Holidays get the best of emotions. So if Chuck is really gonna propose, Julianne should be surprised. The girl is supposed to be surprised.

That is an excellent post. I think you really summed it up very well!

  • Livewire says:

    Posted: December 28th, 2008 at 2:07 pm

Dena’s post got deleted/censored, so here you go again
Julianne has no credibility left with her fans as they all realized this year she will do absolutely anything for attention and publicity. She’s made a joke of herself with the relentless pimping of her personal life. It was the 20 million DWTS fans that made Julianne a success. They were the ones that bought her album and made it #1, many were not even country music fans. But Julianne has been unbearable ever since, and these fans won’t be supporting her going forward. She can kiss goodbye her dreams of having a platinum or even gold record. She doesn’t have the talent for that and if she weren’t a pretty dancer, she would have no success at all with her singing. Her trying to sing on the same stage as Carrie and Martina was embarassing and she should avoid it in the future.
But the media keeps giving her exactly what she wants and prints an article about her every time she breathes. It’s having the opposite effect though and people are so sick of her. Julianne was thrilled to dramatically announce that she is leaving DWTS so it can be printed in every paper in the nation. Then a week later she says she may return so she gets national coverage again for this statement. She will keep this up until the next season and the next, because she wants to stay in the papers. It will backfire on her in the end because now when she shows back up on the show, people will just assume it was because she was a terrible failure in music since she’s already stated she’s too good for dancing and wants to move on. Most fans are ready for her to move on now. She’s made the show all about herself and it’s clear her heart is not in it anymore. She only cares about how many tabloids she can get in.
So good luck country music fans. She will use you for all the attention you will give her, but she is already starting rumblings that her newest “passion” is acting. When you tire of bowing at her feet, she will move to Hollywood and her latest “true passion” which is code word for “whatever will get her in the most magazines and on entertaiment news shows.”

I can tell you this fan isn’t going anywhere. If she wants to act, sing and dance I could careless. I love her voice and she is my favorite dancer by far. If she shows back up on DWTS then great. I definately won’t think it’s because she failed at singing. Just be carefull when you speak for the “fans” because this fan LOVES Juliane!

Julianne and Chuck are featured in the Country Weekly special year-end issue that just came out.(dubbed as “Country’s newest and hottest star couple”) Great pics of both of them. They are both quoted as saying it all started while they were on tour. Chuck used his first pickup line to her talking about the catering while on tour. Also states thst Julianne clarifies their relationship on her website- “I know there are alot of rumors out there about Chuck and I, and I just want to clear things up. First of all, sorry to dissapoint, but we are not engaged. We are dating and enjoying the stage or our relationship. We’re not in any rush.”
