Country's Gone Rock on New Compilation
I don't know what's worse: When aging rockers try to cover country songs or when country stars try to cover classic rock. But I do know that the latter is pretty damn bad, as evidenced by this new Time-Life compilation. Imagine Joe Diffie on "Jet Airliner." Then try to picture Deana Carter on "Dream On." Or Vince Gill doing "Heart of Gold." And Tanya Tucker and Ty Herndon on "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." I have absolutely nothing against Steve Miller, Aerosmith, Neil Young and Sir Elton John. In fact, I love most of the songs on this album. But songs from the '70s should be left alone, in my opinion. Like the way you leave old houses alone for the sake of historic preservation. Then again, it's only 10 bucks, so you don't have too much to lose.

I think you were totally out of line slapping her down like that, and that does not reflect favorably on TT fans.

I have not heard the song by TT and Ty Heardon yet, so I will with hold my opinion till I do hear it. Knowing both of their voices, I think it oughta be pretty good. But let’s face it, Tanya Tucker is a human being, not a goddess, and she ain’t perfect. I’m a big fan of hers, but must admit, I don’t like alot of the songs she’s recorded.
So how can you give an opinion on something you haven’t even heard yet????

First of all it sounds like nobody could make Alison like any version of any type of music unless it is done by the original artist.My opinion is shes an idiot. She not only slammed some of the top singers of all time she put down the only true legend TANYA TUCKER. How many CONCERTS OF TANYAS have you seen? After reading your post, it was easy for some of Tanya’s fans and I to reconize who the person was doing the post. Your post was to bash me and had nothing to do with Alison. When Alison singled out certain singers, she opened the door for fans to comment. Many of Tanya’s fans have asked me to speak for them when I am defending Tanya against pseudo fans and asked my opinion about many things, so they are interested in my opinion. Some of us do think Tanya is “The Goddess of Honky Tonk Music”. She can take any song and make it her own. No one has ever said Tanya was perfect, no one is, including you. Being called an idiot is a compliment, compared to some of the names you were called in emails I received. If you were a true fan of Tanya’s you wouldn’t approve of her or her music being criticized. Some PSEUDO fans think Tanya is great, until she doesn’t do something they want her to and then they turn on her and you know what I mean. Thanks Paula for being a true Tanya fan. I think Time Life has put out some great albums and I think this one will be too. Kathy

Alison had to know that when she makes statements about someones favorite singer that she is going to get comments. I buy alums from Time LIfe and I enjoy all of them. If Tanya’s name is on a song, you know it will be good. When I read Tanyafan’s comment, the first name that came to mind was Aldee. All I’m saying is that the writer has a right to voice his/her opinion without everybody bashing her. I have no idea who she is and don’t really care. Like I said, I have not heard the duet with TT and Ty, but I like them both, and knowing their voices, I have no doubt it will be good. For your information, I have every album TT ever recorded, but I don’t like every single song she recorded, and I don’t think that makes me any less of a TT fan. I believe I even read where Tanya said she didn’t like some of the songs she recorded. KathyTanya, the only way I know you is to read your comments that you post everything concerning Tanya. And you are correct, she is absolutely fabulous!

I agree with the others about Alison. If Alison had just stated that she didn’t care for the album, there wouldn’t have been any comments made about it, but when she named the singers and Time Life, she should have known there would be comments made. You should be aiming your comments at Alison and not Kathytanya.
You ask who is Alabama Dee? My wife and I were visting my brother in Grand Prairie, TX and attended Tanya’s concert in Ft. Worth, TX. Alabama Dee who was suppose to be a fan of Tanya’s, made a complete fool of herself and went off on Tanya after Tanya had left the stage, because things didn’t go the way Alabama Dee wanted them to. Over the years my wife and I have attended many of Tanya’s concerts across the country and in Canada and met tons of Tanya’s fans and continue to keep in touch with them. We have been a fan of Tanya’s for over 30+ years and Kathytanya has been a fan even longer. I remember years ago, articles about Tanya that Kathytanya had written were printed in newspapers and magazines across the country. My wife and I have never met a fan that when Kathytanya’s name came up that didn’t like, respect, and appreciaate the way she promotes and defends Tanya. So when you posted, we immediately thought of Alabama Dee, because she is the only one that has trashed Kathytanya. When Alabama Dee posted on the TUTTFS, she was rude, sarcastic and vulgar. Some fans may not always agree with Kathytanya, but they respect her for having the guts for saying what she thinks and she always uses her real name. In my book, Kathytanys is a great old gal and I mean no disrespect, because I read she is about my age and I’m 73. Kathytanya has always shown respect to fans and Tanya and we appreciate you and your opinion. Merry Christmas Kathytanya, Tanya and family, and all of Tanya’s true fans. Larry David

I, personally have been looking for this single to be released in some shape or form and thanks to TanyaTuckerFanSite…..I found it!! Thanks a lot and being the first to releasing updated info on our Country Diva whom I personally loved for over 20 years!! Ty Herndon is another whom I have been collecting music on, including his rare, “This Is Ty Herndon” CD. I just ordered from Timelife, too and after over 4 years will be able to listen to this song.
