Tim McGraw Wanted to Hear Faith Hill's "Manger"
When Tim McGraw looked at Faith Hill's track list for her Joy to the World album, he said, "I can't believe 'Away in the Manger,' isn't on there. It's my favorite song. You have got to put that on the record." And like a good wife, Hill rearranged some things to make room for a stripped-down version of that song on her record. She told The Tennessean that she'd sung that song a lot growing up in the Baptist church, and it's an important song. Not just because McGraw thinks so but because it's about the true meaning of Christmas. She's right, of course. It's easy to get wrapped up in all the jingle bell rocking and the Santa babies, but if it was not for the little Lord Jesus who laid down his sweet head, there might not even be Christmas. Or Christmas albums. Or Christmas specials. So thank you, Tim McGraw, for reminding us what really matters.

I see that your on a Jesus kick these days. Why don’t you start a thread about how CMT doesn’t play much music anymore. How about a little less “Wife Swap” reruns and a little more music…I’ll go pray about it..LOL!! Merry Christmas

If you want music, you have to watch TOC- it’s ALL about the music and artists.

I am so happy she put this song on her CD, this is a great Christmas song & she did an excellent job with it. I love this song. What a great wife to take advice from her husband. They work great together as a team. :)

Lol good one Kellie. Why don’t you just praise Faith and Tim.

Allison - you have really surprised me- I really like this blog. I’m glad that Faith added Away in a Manger. I can’t wait to hear the CD. I don’t know why people (Kellie) get upset when people talk about their personal faith - this is still a free country where we have a right to free speech and freedom of religion.
