Faith Hill Doesn't Want to Smell Like McGraw

Posted: December 8th, 2008 at 3:53 pm  |  By: Alison Bonaguro

Faith HillMcGraw by Tim McGraw is a nice cologne. But Faith Hill is a girly girl, and she deserves her very own perfume. And it was only a matter of time before Coty realized the potential of a Faith Hill fragrance. Her husband's fragrance launched in August and is flying off store shelves now that McGraw is appearing in primetime TV commercials for the rugged cowboyish scent. It's ranked No. 1 in men's scents. Back in May, he told Women's Wear Daily that Faith had a lot of input when he was concocting his cologne, noting, "I would love to see her have a fragrance, and us to have one together -- a unisex fragrance." Hmm. Two celebrity scents is probably enough for one family. Besides, what would they call the combo scent? Faim? Taith? McHill? A Coty rep says, "Faith Hill defines American beauty." And with some industry sources predicting her perfume could pull in as much as $40 million its first year, she also defines smart business.

I haven’t had the chance to smell it yet. I don’t have a boyfriend and my father is just not that kind of man. Would it wrong to get a boyfriend spray him with McGraw and then let him go. LOL

I heard rumor that Faith and Tim are on the outs. Any truth?

I would not buy a Faith Hill fragrance by Coty. I like the smell of “Pink” by Victoria Secret and Kenneth Coles Fragrance called “Reaction”. They are the most DIVINE smells. “Coty” is a cheap sale company used by less than stellar, overrated people and is sold in Walmart.Yuck!

I wouldn’t buy it either. I use Jessica McClintock and it smells like Lily Of The Valley.

I pay little to no attention to rumor mills because the “truth” usually comes out in what I consider a reputable country mag- Country Weekly. The artists themselves normally report it and ask for their privacy- like Shania, or Sara Evans, etc. I love ‘em both and hope they S-T-A-Y married
just to shut up all the naysayers and bashers who’d love nothing more than to gloat.

I’m a Tim McGraw fan, but I must say I’m disappointed. His cologne smells awful, and I think Faith and Tim both having cologne/perfume lines is just another way to cash in using their fans. Faith especially has become quite good at finding ways of earning money through little work.

Faith Hill defines American Beauty? If Coty thinks this is true than they are not worth buying a fragrance from or they think suckers will buy this flatulent fragrance.

A celebrity getting their own perfume or cologne seems to be the natural progression of fame these days. An artist gets discovered….makes some good music…gets a Grammy or two….gets a role in a bad movie….then their own aftershave! I guess an artist know’s they have “arrived” when they have a cheap cologne on the bottom shelves of the healthcare isle at WalMart!

Denises comment: Faith especially has become quite good at finding ways of earning money through little work.

That is one of the most stupidest things I have ever heard. First she does not do little work. And anyone that is offered to work to make money to do something with perfume, they would do it.

Why do you people care so much that she is having a perfume out, you don’t have to buy it.
You people are so jealous, it is pathetic.

I bet some of you had a failure in life with your careers and that is why your so jealous.

  • Khloe says:

    Posted: December 9th, 2008 at 3:17 pm

Lynn why are you so immature? Using the word jealousy for comments made has nothing to do with the fact that stars having a line of fragrances by a company trying to sell something with a Stars name is just so lame. It’s not like Tim or Faith are in a lab with their own ideas, mixing just the right potions together to make a great smell. It’s the Big Company using Stars names to promote a certain smell. Grow Up!

  • Jim C says:

Relax ladies…it’s only perfume and cologne! Tim and Faith aren’t trying to cure cancer….their just trying to make a buck, which is okay, because this is America and we have the right to make as much money as we want. I will say this however….Tim McGraw made a big deal this year about Curb Records putting out another “Greatest Hits” album without his consent; but he has no problem slapping his name on a bottle of cheap cologne. Talk amongst yourselves…..LOL!!

  • DANIELLE says:

    Posted: December 9th, 2008 at 7:11 pm

Wow, this is awesome, I can’t wait until her perfume comes out. Good for her!

Celebrities having their name on things is lame? I don’t think so.
They are very smart business people. I would be doing it to.
I would think that people should be praising her not being all upset over it.

After reading some of these comments here, Jim is right, make the money. Khloe you should not be telling someone to grow up and who cares where they are at making the perfume. Lynn, your not immature, you are right.

And with todays economy people will be buying the so called cheap perfume/cologne from Walmart. Just because it is sold there doesn’t mean it smells bad.

Today world…As smart business people you put it in Walmart at a cheap price you get more sales, put it in an expensive store with more expensive tag on it…..not going to sell as much.

    :)

I agree with Danielle. There are alot of celebs who put out perfume. Why is it such a big deal when Tim and Faith do? Anytime there is a story about Tim or Faith I almost don’t want to read it because there are so many nasty hateful people out there. Ultimately I read it because Tim and Faith are two of my favorite artists. I don’t get you bashers out there, I’m not a huge fan of a couple of the younger singers but I will not go on here and make a fool of myself bashing them or making ignorant statements. I respect someone’s opinion but some of these statements are ridiculous. Someone told someone to grow up well when you make a statement like that you better make sure it doesn’t apply to you as well!

  • Janet says:

    Posted: December 10th, 2008 at 2:39 pm

Actually Tim’s colonge is outstanding, many, many people agree to that. My husband gets comments all the time. It is the #1 seller in Men’s colonge at stores like Walmart. It is sold at Sears, Kohl, Target and many besides Walmart.

And just so you know many, many country fans come from that blue collar, middle class that some of you look down
    on.

Price does noty always means its the best.

As for marketing, should Toby stop selling his line at Cracker Barrel or how about cashing in with his resturants,or George hawking wranglers and such. How about Carrie marketing bottle vitamin water or Taylor with her name attached to clothes in Walmart. The list goes on and on and has for decades.

Johnny. I agree with Rosebud. She is respecting other people’s opinion and you take the low road and tell her she made an ignorant statement. Do you feel better?

I say let the artists come up with/hawk whatever products they see fit. No one is being forced against their will to buy it or like it. Obviously ANY product is going to find its market and people WILL buy it- let them be happy with it.
I also agree price doesn’t mean everything, or that the product is the best, or worst because of it.

I agree that the usual Tim & Faith bashers are out in full force, but then there are the Carrie bashers, and Taylor bashers, etc.

Now if only I could find something to hawk as successfully. Alas, I am only generic, not name-brand- lol.

This is a queston for Denise? How has Faith especially found ways to make money without any work? What has she done to prove this statement true. I would really like you to name the ways besides the cologne which I don’t see it that way. She put out an album two years or so ago, toured for two summers, participated in the NFL cookbook (with partial sales going to help those in need), has performed the NFL Sunday night song for two seasons exactly how is that putting her name on everything to make money without doing any work? Oh yeah and she is fulltime mom and wife. I am just wondering because that is a pretty bold, immature, and ridiculous statement without anything to back it up.

And I think Tim’s cologne smells amazing.

  • Angela says:

    Posted: December 11th, 2008 at 12:04 pm

Oh yeah and I forgot has just released a Christms album and is promoting it. I see that as her names on things she has created and worked to create.

Everyone that has posted Lynn and everyone else after me has excellent comments. It is nice there are people other than bashers that will post on here. The McGraws are wonderful people, they work very hard for their money and Faith is an amazing woman.

I can’t wait until her perfume comes out, I think it is going to smell real good.

I would think as a mature person you would not go posting negative things on peoples board you don’t care for. I would not waste my time. There are a lot of immature people on this board. Go to peoples boards you like.

I find myself a pretty picky cologne man. I wouldn’t wear the Mcgraw cologne, I don’t think it smells bad, it just isn’t my scent. As for the “Wal Mart” reference, WalMart also has Kenneth Cole, Ralph Lauren, Armani and other big name fragrances. I’ve never bought cologne at Wal Mart though, I have this vision in my head of them adding water to half full bottles. As for the Faith Hill scent, I’m anxious to smell it. I like Victoria Secrets “Heavenly” on my lady. Its the best smelling perfume, hands down!
